Watch it again :conf: I think you're again doing exactly what she says. The irony continues.

Ollie, I think you are the one who needs to temper their attitude. It seems you cant take her words on face value without adding a spin. What she says is quite easy to understand and you try to rubbish it but instead behave exactly how she says.

'When a black woman doesn't go along with the program, when she exhibits her own views, she's a problem.'

It's not a word for word quote of what she said but it certainly holds a lot of truth it seems.

Phillip said none of the criticism aimed at Meghan was racist. She said it was, but didn't give any examples because "it's not her job" There's nothing to her words beyond the face value, she's not a good advocate for her side of the argument.
I actually agree there's an argument to be made that her ethnicity plays some role in the way the press treated her - I might not agree with the premise, but it's a debate to be had. And debates aren't one side saying "educate yourself."

Yes.

You are immediately trying to discredit her because you, like so many white people are more uncomfortable with the accusation of racism then you are of racism itself. When a black woman speaks of racism, you accuse her of having a chip on her shoulder when she addressed such attitudes in the clip.

Have some self awareness.

Exactly. Its the final thing she says and quite accurate it seems.

She didn't have a chip on her shoulder for speaking of racism, but for saying it wasn't her place (as a doctor) to educate white people on the matter. She also couldn't give any examples of racism from the press.

She said its not the job of black people etc. She said nothing about herself. Just proves you dont take what she says on face value. Also, you still cant get away from her perceived 'attitude'. You;re proving her right .

Were you even listening to what she was saying? She addressed this as well.

Why should black people try educating white people when you have proven twice in a matter of minutes that you are not open to learning because you've attacked her and you haven't really paid attention to what she was saying at all.

Why should she not educate people on the matter? I'm open to learning but she's making no effort to educate, so how can I? Until she gives examples, the racism in the press may as well be the Spaghetti Monster. It's not my place to prove it exists!

Racism isn’t always slurs and attending rallies, racism can be as subtle as treating a minority differently for doing the same thing as a white person, it’s often simple as a subconscious slant towards favouring white people, all of which the press has done constantly, just because there aren’t articles calling her the n word, doesn’t mean there aren’t racist tendencies in the reporting of Meghan

There you go again. Watch it a few more times and eventually you'll see how you're misrepresenting her words.

And, she gives a brilliant example but you seem so blinded you didn't notice it.

This statement needs clarification. With about 200 countries in the world how are you sure Uk is the least racist?

How am I meant to do that when she's made it clear her essays aren't for me? Anything I read by white academics would be seeped in subconscious racial bias, so there are no reliable sources out there.

Watch it again or get someone else to watch it and break it down for you. If you cant see what is blatantly obvious then we have no debate here

Can you back the statements up? If not then I suggest you, in future, clarify with 'in my opinion' or some similar statement. For the sake of the debate. You'll know how to word it:thumbs:
