Ollie, I think you are the one who needs to temper their attitude. It seems you cant take her words on face value without adding a spin. What she says is quite easy to understand and you try to rubbish it but instead behave exactly how she says.

It's not a word for word quote of what she said but it certainly holds a lot of truth it seems.

I actually agree there's an argument to be made that her ethnicity plays some role in the way the press treated her - I might not agree with the premise, but it's a debate to be had. And debates aren't one side saying "educate yourself."

Why should black people try educating white people when you have proven twice in a matter of minutes that you are not open to learning because you've attacked her and you haven't really paid attention to what she was saying at all.

Why should she not educate people on the matter? I'm open to learning but she's making no effort to educate, so how can I? Until she gives examples, the racism in the press may as well be the Spaghetti Monster. It's not my place to prove it exists!

How am I meant to do that when she's made it clear her essays aren't for me? Anything I read by white academics would be seeped in subconscious racial bias, so there are no reliable sources out there.
