I am saying the opposite of 'just accept their place'; if they don't want the Queen as head of state/be part of the Commonwealth, then they have every right to change that, but stop making a song and dance about it, just get on with it....

They are happy to leave. After the destruction of empire, slavery, and windrush, they have now partnered with China to rebuild their infrastructure. Nice of China to clear up our mess.

Authoritarian, communist China with its bloody history, genocides and mass murders?
What is in it for them then?

They were INVITED to go, and it was brave of them to agree, knowing the mood there. :clap1:
There has been a mixed reaction, yes, but pictures and videos of crowds of happy smiling Jamaicans greeting them don't lie. :hee:

oh you mean they didn't just insist on going...how strange

must have taken a bit of soul searching whether or not to accept, very rude of the PM to come out with moving away from the Commonwealth then if they are invited guests :umm2:

Good luck to Jamaica whatever they decide

This should make the thread moist.

Who invited them? Just wondering as the Prime Minister is a bit of a **** if he invited them there just to then say they want rid??

I thought the Royal Tours are arranged by the Royals and not on an invite basis but I don't really know how these things work.

it's usually by mutual consent. There is no way the royals would have gone if Jamaica had basically said "your not welcome" . I think its a bit like that tennis player going to australia. The government have been gauging the population and are basically falling into line with those with the loudest voices

Crimson Dynamo 24-03-2022 02:17 PM

My daughter went there the other month

"Jamaica"?

No she went of her own accord

He wasn't making it up though:

[Leading the charge is Jamaican attorney and reparations advocate Bert Samuels, who swallowed Meghan’s crocodile tears hook, line and sinker to help advance his political cause for the UK to be forced to pay reparations to compensate for African slaves brought to the island before the practice was made illegal in 1833.

He told Newsweek: ‘Jamaicans were very torn up to hear about Harry and Meghan's issue, and Harry and Meghan's interview with Oprah Winfrey, and that has torn us. That's William's brother, that's his nephew, and for Harry to have been treated the way he was, and worse yet Meghan.

‘The Jamaicans are very hurt by the treatment of an African American woman in that family. William needs to speak to that when he comes and as it were, he should come here with an apology, not only for slavery but for the treatment of a black woman who had to run out of the palace with her husband. That's a
strong issue and that's a fresh wound.’]
The Mail online.

:joker:

That attorney is a even bigger fanny and completely gullible. He obviously believed every word Meghan said without a shred of evidence. :hee:

China is capitalist, not communist. You're living in the past.

Of course China will make money, but they're present and helping them. We have left these places to rot, and that's my issue - it's not even a monarchy (even though I'd abolish the lot of them in a heartbeat) issue at all. We had a responsibility to try and repair what we've done, so it only diminishes us as a nation, and us as a people when we have other countries clean our mess up.

jet 24-03-2022 02:26 PM

Wootons response to the Jamaican attorney, which is very much in line with what many have said all along and fits with the subsequent discovery of her many lies and maipulations:

[In fact, she was given a huge amount of support from the Queen down but scarpered because, as a pampered actress used to assistants giving into her every whim, she wanted to return to the comfort of Hollywood and make the serious big bucks she thought she deserved.
Meghan soon realised a life of service wasn’t for her.
She had zero interest in supporting the Royal Family and zero interest in the Commonwealth, but cared a whole lot about her bank balance and celebrity status.
So it was convenient for the Sussexes to fashion a narrative behind their exit to make it more politically palatable to their leftie supporters, to hell with the damage it would cause to the Queen’s legacy].

China is great if you can overlook their Human Rights abuses like forced labour, torture, arbitrary internment, repression of cultural and religious expression... etc. etc.

Why China continues to call itself a Communist state.

And North Korea calls itself the peoples republic of north korea, doesn't make that true, either.

The article itself points out that it's china's interpretation of Marxism, but you can't be anti worker and Marxist at the same time as they're in opposition.

You should let China know, they seem very confused.
