I watched ... or tried to watch one of the Blackadder episodes yesterday .. the one where they threw away the first Dictionary ..

I just found it soooo tedious

It may be me getting older ?

I rarely watch comedy series these days and even then I would chose an American one over a British series everytime

You didn't like Baldrick's novel about a little sausage? Or his definition of the letter C? "Big blue wobbly thing that mermaids live in"

Fleabag is a bit of an odd one. Obviously it is a comedy but it’s not really ENTIRELY a comedy… hard to call it a sitcom IMO. I’d say the same about something like After Life.

I hear the actress who plays fleabag is very good.

Some comments from other critics whom I respect have said they struggled with the first series but loved the second series and will go back and watch the first series again because maybe they'd see it in a different light now.

I watched the first episode and I struggled with it. It didn't really make me laugh. I thought the bad language was a bit over the top. It's language I expect from men working on a building site but it didn't come across as appealing coming from a lady.

I don't watch American sitcoms. I have seen some older ones like Bilko, The Munsters, Happy Days, Cheers, Married with Children and The Golden girls but I haven't seen enough to make a reasonable list.

I could do a list of 100 popular American sitcoms. But I couldn't put them in order of my liking because I haven't watched enough of most of them.
