France were the better side overall, and no the ref kept things fair and square i thought, unlike that lunatic Lahoz at NL - ARG

At least that Ref was an arsehole to both sides, this one was just being an ass to England, even when they were blatant offences by France.

And with Maguire in fairness he has had a decent World Cup, and he did nearly score which is more than what some players were getting in the match.

Mock fighting the good fight in here :clap1:

I think we played well and deserved to win but that's football. This team still makes me proud to English and I wouldn't blame any one of them for that result

Crimson Dynamo 11-12-2022 10:07 AM

Southgate still not beaten a decent team and never will, he is not a winner and neither is Kane im afraid

its rinse and repeat yet again

Should have used another player

Kane keeps doing this.

Calderyon 11-12-2022 10:36 AM

In the end, the continuation of the match was down to Kane and Kane only.

And he blew it in a way that would make Roberto Baggio proud.

He probably has one of the best penalty records in the world

winning the world cup isn't easy and Kane did a Spurs when it really mattered.

If they played france off the park they wouldn't be moaning about referee decisions and to be honest, france weren't anything close to their best and england werent as clinical up front as an under par france

Morocco have the form in this tournament, and they are the team to be beaten now if any of the other 3 are going to win it

MTVN 11-12-2022 11:12 AM

I think you and LT are a little bit too pleased about this result bots

I think England have a wonderful squad of players, but they haven't performed to their potential when it mattered in 40+ years. I don't know what the answer is. It's easy to blame an individual or the manager, but with the strength and depth they have, they under perform every time it matters

Calderyon 11-12-2022 11:24 AM

England will win when the World Cup is held in England.

(Or rest of the UK)

MTVN 11-12-2022 11:26 AM

Think if this group of players never win anything it will be a bit of a travesty

Saka, Foden, Rice, Bellingham, even Kane should have a few more majors in them

think of the Venables era. Great manager, Gascoyne, Lineker etc etc etc and they couldn't do it. They were better than the current squad

rusticgal 11-12-2022 01:15 PM

Well I thought the boys did good...at least we didn't go out on penalties which I always find the worst way to go out of a competition. Its not like Kane's miss would have won the game for us..we will never know.

Nicky91 11-12-2022 01:17 PM

oh well, depression now, now almost time for Freya to maybe lighten up the GBP their moods with maybe a decent comeback result at the junior esc

am almost sure there'll be jokes being made regarding the world cup flops from NL and England

Thanks MTVN.

Honestly I feel like England were cheated out of the World Cup, I now understand how the England fans felt about Maradona's Hand Of God goal back in the day.

Especially in this case, because we can beat the other teams left in the competition, I'm very confident on that.

Oh that miss was spectacular, I'll grant you that.:joker:

But the main responsibility for this result has to go to the Referee, he gave France's first goal, and to give France credit they're already a great team, so it's not gonna be easy for England anyway, so the Referee keep constantly ****ing England over basically made it impossible for us to win the game.

He honestly shouldn't officiate another World Cup match again.

Let's face it, England and France basically already played the real final out.

Morocco are a good team, but France have already beat England who are the better team, even if it was through dodgy means on how they beat us.

Basically we would beat Morocco, so I feel like France shouldn't have too much trouble against them, if they do then it proves that they were dragged through to a round that they shouldn't have been in, because Morocco are the weakest team left in the competition on paper.

everybody is mocking Morocco and they have put out 3 major teams and conceded 1 goal the entire tournament.

My view is that it was fairly-even match, but France had more firepower up front.

The french players were making some really rash tackles, the second penalty was one of most unnecessary penalties I've seen in a while.

Blaming the referee is clutching at straws a bit. IMO.

Really !?

The LB clattered into Saka at least 8 times and only got booked once ..

That ridiculous foul on Saka where he played on and VAR found nothing wrung then they scored 45 seconds later ..

There were another obvious two penalty claims that were ignored.

The guy who clattered into Mount for the penalty was carrying a booking but wasn’t booked for a deliberate barge - preventing a certain goal .. should have been a straight red but he wasn’t even booked
There were many , many other instances
