I prefer the House tour in its traditional place at the beginning of the launch show. We should have seen photos of the House interior by then. A chance to see how all the rooms connect and how the entrance to the garden works.

Yeah, you also get the overriding weirdness of an empty house and camera people being able to go right inside it, giving you a perspective you'll pretty much never see again for the rest of the series run. Hope they keep that traditional though it'd make sense if it was something they used to draw people to their social media channels.

Davina's house tours were always great on launch night. You could feel the rush as she hurried around the house, clearly on a time limit, and then seeing the DR for the first time. Then you could imagine her rushing out of the house during the ad break in time for the first housemate showing up.

With them switching the lights on yesterday, I did wonder if they might've used that opportunity not only to test everything but to take a couple of promotional photos of the staging area. Would be nice to get a small drip feed of stuff now - the outdoor stage, maybe a glimpse of the other studio, and then teases of the house itself.

When we get to see the House interior we can count the beds or seats at the dining room table so we know how many housemates to expect.

The msin road outside the house?

That eye next to the canal entrance seems to have been moved to the side. I presume the housemates will emerge from it before mounting the podium and entering the house but maybe not from off a boat.

Tierney flags the decision to introduce two ITV-friendly hosts in AJ Odudu and Will Best, along with playing with the design of the iconic house, which has moved from Hertfordshire to London. Tierney describes it as “the best Big Brother UK house ever and potentially one of the best anywhere in the world.”

Some details on the new house, taken from Broadcast

The living room will be double height, with a mezzanine floor on another level

Ceilings fitted with skylights to make the house “feel more alive”

One way mirrors are indeed back #BBUK

That will make a change
but will they see a Drone flying over?

Stu 03-10-2023 04:13 PM

Overly conservative back-in-my-day alert but I don't like the idea of two levels. Everything being on one floor contributed to how claustrophobic it felt back in the day. Makes sense given the rather large depth the current soundstage seems to have though to actually utilise the space.
