This is hot. We should win.
|
This time next week it'll all be over and be as far away as ever.
I'm going in completely "blind" this time, not watching either of the semi-finals and haven't heard a single entry besides ours (UK) so this should be fun! I fin the song just "okay" and don't think we'll win but the staging is very striking and I think that'll help it do quite well. Here's hoping anyway. |
Olly Alexander will represent the UK at Eurovision 2024

I actually love the Uk song and play it most days .. so melodic and I like the nod to the Pet Shop Boys ( his idols and mine ) at 2 .02 of the track As regards the staging / routine ww have to remember the viewing profile for this event.. it’s specialist it’s not like the local working man’s club or something Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |
I actually think that the staging is better than what we normally throw out.

it has to end that eurovision is too gay tbh it is a song contest for me, and Dizzy is a crap last place material song LOL :joker: regarding big names Engelbert had the most competent song, but yeah it was in the year of euphoria so he didn't stand a chance also up against the god of balkan music Zeljko Joksimovic, but Engelbert i was a fan of yes, with the Adele top composer behind his entry my favourites are San Marino, Norway, and i also love Armenia (a fun tune) San Marino have outdone themselves this year honestly, such a superb looking staging with a great rock song and a frontwoman with a infectious charismatic fun personality Norway finally no generic turds from them for a year HALLELUJAH!!!!!!!!!! |

The song is a typically good Eurovision song.
Olly Alexander has a personality that to most people is endearing. The staging can be important too. The acidic dislike of him may be covering other thinking rather than music, performance or person. However I love Eurovision. I wish Olly all the very best of luck. He'll need a lot of it because the UK will be likely politically ( which sadly features too much as to Countries in Eurovision) , even more disliked this year again for it's stance on a few issues. The erratic dislike and already criticism of Olly is really quite funny to read. Good luck to a really good and decent guy in Olly from me. He'll give it his all and do his very best. I've never tired of listening to the song. For me it's one of the better we've entered over the last 12 years at least. So I'll enjoy the show and not just fire out negativity and ridiculous dislike to other Nations entries and just recognise all their individual hard work to get in the show anyway. |
''typical good eurovision song''
not according to me :idc: if UK do well, i reckon more countries will be leaving the contest, same goes for if that flamingo troll from switzerland does well  |
UK could've had a fabulous entrant, Nathan Evans :bawling: his new song Highland Girl is such a snatch :flutter: the john denver similarities in that, stunning

i don't respect anyone releasing music in english

Of course it is !! There have been some car crash winning songs over the years ( and years) LOL 97.54% if it seems to be political and we rarely do well as most of the world seems to dislike/ hate us Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |
a country supporting Israel against terrorists is not going to do well at eurovision. I would predict a bottom 2 placement

And imo the Norway singer isn't exactly hideous. But ultimately Eurovision like any Show, should be catering to it's main demographic first and foremost, which tbf is a gay male audience. I'm obviously not in their main demographic, so I have to kind of bend my standards a little bit, if I'm to actually get anything out of the Show. You might need to learn to do the same Nicky. |

i better get my puke bucket at the ready upon seeing the swiss freakshow and the uk wannabe chippendale cringefest, don't care about that disgusting fastfood non-music those gays only care about having sex, they do not care about the music |
In March, along with Irish hopeful Bambie Thug, Danish entrant Saba and other
Eurovision artists, Alexander released a joint statement, backing "an immediate and lasting ceasefire" but refusing to boycott the event. Now, speaking out in a new documentary which has followed the 33-year-old as he prepares for the show He said: "A lot of the contestants and myself have been having a lot of comments that are like 'You are complicit in a genocide by taking part in Eurovision' which is quite extreme. It's very extreme. "It's an incredibly complicated political situation, one that I'm not qualified to speak on. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/world...a92b9ae9&ei=14 So happy to speak about it until it personally impacts his ability to make money from the show and then he cant speak about it as he "isn't qualified" what a fraud :bored: |
Music shows should not be boycotted.
I agree with Olly. Music, is best used to entertain and please those who like it No matter the songs or type of music genre it is of either. Nothing of a fraud in what he and others have said at all. Eurovision is political in the voting. However I love seeing and hearing all the acts. As for the sad and horrific events happening in Gaza now. That is an issue that people will have their own concerns about, people holding different views depending on the side preferred. With others hoping to see an end to the suffering on all sides in said conflict. The cancelling or boycotting of a musical entertainment show so many have worked many months to take part in. Wouldn't change a single thing of the horrors already committed against Israelis last year. Or the ongoing still horror going on in Gaza now with even more horrific suffering planned as to a new invasion in the area. Eurovision on or off or boycotted by any acts wouldn't make a single bit of difference to those horrors continuing. |
