The dems just don't know what to do against Trump. If they take the high ground, they effectively disengage from the argument. Trump can come out with something new and obscene every day, and the dems will scream with outrage and the public say oh there goes trump again being trump. The public largely don't care. The dems are now saying trump said the n word 25 years ago .... i mean, wtf .... do they honestly think chasing that down will win them an election?

I saw Biden at some campaign event yesterday, and he looked old. He doesn't plaster on the make up and dye his hair ..... and he looks the age that he is 80+.

Trump goes on stage, fluffs his words, talks crap, but he has sun tan make up and dyed hair. Perception is everything

The dems should have won this election without trying, but it should have been with a different candidate. Simple

What are their alternatives in the US though? It's not like Trump is falling over himself to support Palestinian children. I suppose turnout could be an issue.

Trump has definitely started to decline in his public appearances too - but he's where Biden was 4 years ago (unsurprisingly, as he is coincidentally 4 years younger). Biden always had his fluff-ups but they're noticeably increasing. There was "plausible deniability" in 2020 that a lot of it was just his speech impediment etc. but not so much at this point, he gets cleary and obviously confused.

The alternative is not to vote at all. Trump has come out and said he'll crush the campus protesters on his first day in office, but I think Bidens optics over trumps bluster is always more shocking and is reality.

I have no worries that trump will be able to get more voters than he got last time, but US elections are weird. Hilary lost her election by a total of 25k votes across 3 or 4 states. it doesn't take a lot to happen for those margins to be in play again. That's without understanding that MAGA have been trying to get themselves in influential positions when it comes to election supervision, and signing them off.

I could be completely wrong, but I just don't see Biden winning at this point in time.

A lot of the reason Hillary didn't win, was because people simply didn't like her, and she was way ahead in the polls, so people just didn't bother voting. As you say, it doesn't take much change at swing states to actually win the election. Let's also not forget the election interference

So, this time round, i actually think its a good thing that the polls are close, because it forces people out to vote, and bidens vote pool should be much larger than trumps, meaning he should win .... but will i put a bet on it? If i'm betting any way, it will be for a Biden win

Quick point about vote pools and US elections. They always come down to a few votes in a few states. The fact Biden had 8 million more voters last time is an irrelevance. It's about voting pools in very specific counties and cities and there just isn't a lot of room to play with.

I'm not sure what the demographics are in those states, and I can't be arsed to look, so it may mean that Biden losing young and PoC coastal or city voters won't have any impact at all on the races that matter, or it could just completely wipe his chances off the (electoral) map.

I'm sure trump did collect a lot yesterday, but, the biden campaign has much more money, and already has infrastructure in place that the gop hasn't even begun yet.

What Trump is ignoring is that the gop have to fight for congress all over the country too, not just the presidential election and lawyers fees

Crimson Dynamo 31-05-2024 03:45 PM

Throwback:

Bill Clinton accuser Paula Jones shows off her $1,000,000 cheque she received from Bill Clinton after he settled out of court over her sexual harassment claims.

The Slim Reaper 31-05-2024 03:58 PM

I don't know the circumstances behind the Clinton story, but she doesn't seem very hidden, in the same way Trump tried to hide Daniels and McDougal. Paying off people is not a crime. Paying off people to sway an election is definitely a crime.

Just watched Trump spouting garbage about appealing all his guilty verdicts. Why does the orange cretin get airtime? Cannot stand him.

I think congress and senate races are going to annihilate the republicans, they’ve already lost the majority of the special races over the past year, they massively underperformed at the midterms and they’re the races the democrat fundraisers/campaigners are focusing on, if Biden were to lose the presidency, which I don’t think he will, I think the dems will still easily win both the senate and congress

Oh Farage is a strong supporter of Trump SB.
He's planning it was said to go to the States to help canvass a win for him later in the year.

I can't bear Trump at all.

bots 31-05-2024 05:51 PM

Farage has been offered a place in the Trump administration if he wins, thats one of the reasons farage isn't standing as a reform candidate
