X is a junk-pile increasingly infested with bots (no relation) and scripts. It is indeed a private company meaning you can't see it's shares dropping like a rock in real time, however, its current valuation in under $10 billion, when Elon bought is 2.5 years ago for $44 Billion.

His net worth has of course increased exponentially over that same time (he's certainly not $34 billion poorer than he was in 2022) -- but it sure as sht isn't because of X :umm2:.

I reckon he'll bankrupt it and sell it off for peanuts, eventually, once its fully served its purpose for him (as a propaganda printing press).

He's a billionaire oligarch who has bought his way into close alignment with the current leader of the largest economy and most powerful military in the world. The idea that he's a champion of the littleman on the street is so daft that it's barely worth acknowledging let alone debating; I acknowledge that some people -- either faking it from a bitter place or via a level of genuine optimism that escapes me -- will claim that he is, but he is not. He's a dweeb with infinite funds who thinks the world is his toy, and who is being allowed to use it like one. Nothing more, nothing less.

Thankfully, so far, it turns out the US Constitution is more robust than they had hoped.

I'm just fascinated to see how the frustration manifests when the majority of the promises being made by these snakeoil billionaires evaporate into thin air over the next few years.
