ffs
"Only 7 swine flu deaths, not 152, says WHO"
http://www.smh.com.au/world/only-7-s...0429-aml1.html
""Unfortunately that [150-plus deaths] is incorrect information and it does happen, but that's not information that's come from the World Health Organisation," Ms Allan told ABC Radio today.

"That figure is not a figure that's come from the World Health Organisation and, I repeat, the death toll is seven and they are all from Mexico."" .. from link

Masks have to be changed each day or half day.
So that is not good.

It is Not bad.

The yanks with Swine fever
have not died.
so what is in Mexico has changed to a lesser strength
3 mix flu.

pinkmichk 29-04-2009 10:31 AM

the thing is all those who have died have been at or near the source the further it goes across the globe the weaker it will be hence why that couple in scotland are recovring well also all the deaths have occured in a country that has poor health care levels compared to the uk its the same as with bird flu there were more deaths in places where health and hygiene levels are a lot lower

Xander 29-04-2009 10:35 AM

Seems like the US have reported there first death from Swine Flu.

Dom:D 29-04-2009 10:57 AM

I think what most people who are worried think is that when you have it, your its going to kill you when that is not necessarily the case.
Officials have confirmed so far out of the 159 or so deaths in Mexico 7 were only by swine flu.
They say 40% of UK might be infected with it, IF theres a pandemic, which doesn't mean all of that 40% are going to be seriously ill with it. It seems the death rate has slowed down in Mexico.

arista 29-04-2009 11:05 AM

Ch4 just confirmed the Pig Farm in Mexico,
they think started this 3 part Flu is owned by "Yanks"

Xander 29-04-2009 11:08 AM

3 more cases of swine flu in the UK Girl, 12 and two adults.

Shaun 29-04-2009 11:08 AM

They just confirmed a case in Torbay :|

:bawling:

Chri$ 29-04-2009 11:08 AM

Loads of Supermarkets and Pharmacies in the US have run out of things like Masks and Hand Sanitizer.

There are 3 people in Florida and they are being tested for Swine Flu and the bad thing is its in the Orlando Area.

Use this Map, Its always up to date

Xander 29-04-2009 11:12 AM

7 people from falkirk came back negative. Torbay is only an hour so away.

Shaun 29-04-2009 11:13 AM

Gosh that must be awful, Xander, if only there was someone on TiBB who lived there

pinkmichk 29-04-2009 11:24 AM

those 14+ people connected with the couple in scotland have all come back as negative this is gonna have a huge effect on the nhs and stuff cos any slight sniffle people will be running to the docs
its the nhs and airport staff i feel for cos they are gonna be at first hand risk of it my own stepbro works at heathrow airport although he mostly deals with the middle east flights

Mrluvaluva 29-04-2009 01:34 PM

A woman in Redditch has now apparently contracted it.

Wildcat! 29-04-2009 01:39 PM

LMAO!!! This is really pathetic to be honest. People in the UK are always so eager to follow anything that the americans do. NOw they even want to get the Flu epidemic. You cant make this stuff up. It makes me wonder did the United States gain independence from England, or was it the other way around?

pinkmichk 29-04-2009 01:46 PM

i wish people wouldnt follow the media so much they are making it out to be far far worse than it actually is mass hysteria panic is such a wonderful thing:rolleyes:

Scarlett. 29-04-2009 02:01 PM

Apparently some people in Blackpool are being monitored for it

Mrluvaluva 29-04-2009 02:02 PM

Somebody in London has contracted it too.

pinkmichk 29-04-2009 02:10 PM

its only killer if there are complications same as normal flu so pneumonia etc considering there has only been 8 deaths so far and the first case was 3 weeks ago that really isnt anything people die although over the world cos of normal flu if there are complications just cos people are getting it certainly doesnt mean they are all if any gonna die and like i said being in the uk we are further away from the source so any strain here is going to be weaker anyway
i'm not concerned i'll just keep washing hands etc as normal same as i would if a normal flu outbreak
there was actually a flu here before this hit the news anyway i know this cos half of my daughters nursery had it

JohnnyBB 29-04-2009 02:13 PM

what would happen if the flu was in bb house ?

I agree with your other post, the media always make something seem worse.
100's and even thousands of people here die of normal flu each year but when its in the news people don't seem to take that much notice of it.
