Pop princess Kylie Minogue is planning to write a musical based on her greatest hits, she has announced.

The 41-year-old is working on the project with her stylist and creative director William Baker (pictured).

William also has West End experience having directed the 2007 revival of the musical Rent.

Although no details of the show have been revealed, Kylie says the story will not be based on her life, nor will she take the lead role.

"I’m comfortable because it’s not about my life story; it’s about the interpretation of music,” she says.

Pop superstar Kylie Minogue could perform at Scots festival RockNess

KYLIE MINOGUE has put RockNess bosses on red alert by revealing she wants to play a UK festival.

The Aussie star was forced to pull out of Glastonbury in 2005 due to her battle with breast cancer.

Kylie now wants to put that right by playing a festival next summer - but Glasto boss Michael Eavis has already ruled her out as a headliner.

So RockNess could pull off a stunning coup by inviting her to Dores.

Kylie, 41, said: "I really want to do a festival.

"For me, the most exciting part of this is still performing and the energy from that."

RockNess festival director Jim King said: "Kylie for RockNess? Could be great. I'll dig my hotpants out."

While every UK festival will be champing at the bit to book Kylie, RockNess have an advantage over their rivals.

They are part-owned by the massive AEG Live organisation, which gives them huge pulling power when it comes to booking stars.

Aeg Live have promoted Kylie shows in their venues worldwide in recent years.

Blondie and The Strokes are among the stars who will play at this year's RockNess, which kicks off on June 11.

Kylie stays out of Dannii Minogue's role on X Factor

POP princess Kylie Minogue has confirmed she was asked to replace her sister Dannii on the hit British talent show X Factor.

The offer came after Dannii revealed she was expecting her first child in July.

"I was asked to do it, but there were two main reasons why I said no," Kylie said.

"One was I had my album coming out. And two, because it's Dannii's thing. I would be stepping on her territory and it would get too messy.

"You know that Kylie/Dannii thing again? It's her job, I don't want to come in, and then we have that whole comparison when she came in to take over.

"For two years she had a really tough time. People were really nasty about her. There were times when she got really down and then she turned it around.

"She can be direct and it can rub people up the wrong way. But she has a big heart. That's what people have started to love about her."

Kylie's album, Aphrodite, is set for release in July. She is expected to be in Australia that month.

Dannii, meanwhile, has signed a $450,000 deal to return to X Factor after giving birth.

Split claims are mad: Kylie Minogue

Australian pop star Kylie Minoguehas slammed reports that she's split from her model boyfriend Andres Velencoso, branding the speculation as "mad".

The Spinning Around hitmaker has been dating the Spanish hunk, who is almost a decade younger than her, for the past 18 months but tabloid reports earlier this week claimed they had decided to end their relationship , Contactusic reported.

Now Minogue, who turned 42 last week, has opened up about their romance, telling her fans to "pay no attention" to the split reports.

In a post on her Twitter.com page, she writes, "Wowza... Love life rumours have gone mad!!!!... Please pay no attention peeps (people). My birthday was magical with AV (Segura) and friends!!"

Last month Velenscoso opened up about the relationship in an interview with Britain's HELLO! magazine, insisting the couple has a long future together.

He said, "We're in it for the long haul. We're doing really well."

Kylie Minogue has meltdowns over work “every few hours” but says her boyfriend helps her keep calm.

Kylie, 42, has been dating Spanish model Andres Velencoso, 32, for about eighteen months after a string of unsuccessful relationships.

The dedicated singer has always made it clear how important her career is and admits her perfectionist nature makes her prone to stress. Luckily she says Andres is very understanding and has been a source of calm now that she’s busy promoting her new album Aphrodite.

“The big difference in our relationship now is that he’s seen what I’m like when I’m working. I’ve gone from being relaxed to going into full-on-Kylie-at-work mode, having meltdowns every few hours and freaking out and him having to deal with it. He just looks at me wide-eyed and says, ‘Hey calm down. Nothing’s a problem,’” the star told Grazia magazine.

It was recently reported the couple’s relationship was under strain and that Andres felt pressured to support the singer as she embarked on a string of high-profile appearances. Kylie has vehemently denied the rumours and has spoken of her disappointment that her critics often seem to want her romances to fail.

“I don’t know why people would want us to break up. It never ceases to amaze me that people either want to see me in a marriage or a break-up. I’m in a lovely relationship that makes me incredibly happy and I hope it will stay like that,” she gushed.

However happy she is in her private life, Kylie revealed she will always be a career woman and has no plans to change that.

“I love to work. Music is a huge part of my life and I am so proud of my new album. And this is what I do – I don’t want to lose that. It’s about balance and so far everything seems right,” said the star.

Kylie Minogue has revealed she is interested in a job on the American version of X Factor, which launches next year.

Simon Cowell recently quit American Idol in order to concentrate on taking X Factor to the States. Several celebrity judges have been touted, including Cheryl Cole and Mel B, and now Kylie has admitted she’d like to mentor the contestants.

“That would interest me,” the 'All The Lovers' singer told American network NBC. “Maybe I could come in for a special kind of tutorial or something like that.”

Kylie has twice appeared on the UK version of X Factor – she performed with Leon Jackson in the 2008 live final, and helped sister Dannii choose her finalists in the 2009 series.

In other Kylie news, the singer has admitted she is keen to get back to acting – 22 years after she left Neighbours. The 42-year-old had limited success in the 1990s with roles in The Delinquents and Street Fighter, but that hasn’t dented her desire.

“The mid-nineties were a bad patch, but show me an actor who hasn't done a few bad jobs,” Kylie said. “I have a deep desire to challenge myself with that again. As a pop star, I've created this world for myself and it becomes very natural to stay inside of it, but I'd love to do some independent films. It's still very early, but I'm in the process of choosing between specific parts.”

Kylie Minogue Has Regrets Over Albums

Pop singer Kylie Minogue has said that she regrets her last two albums, Body Language and X. The All The Lovers hit-maker feels that the two records could’ve been a bit more cohesive.

She told Attitude Magazine: "I hate to have regret, because there was some amazing stuff on there, but there was a niggling voice in my head that just wished they could have been a little bit more cohesive. Hindsight can be a real b**ch. You go, 'God, I wish I'd been more clear-headed or thought of that or been more strong-willed', or whatever the case is."

The Australian superstar then went on to explain that her new album Aphrodite, which is released on July 5th, is all good:

"I don't think I've ever felt this way about an album. I feel that just a lot of goodness has gone into it. It sounds like a cereal: 'Goodness'."

goddamn harry, that's some pricey CD.

I dont mind paying I do have some money to spare for other days. And I have spent more then that before as well on one CD (Though that was rare and hard to find).

I need to get a load of albums soon and I'm considering getting this one because I love ATL and I've been listening to Kylie's Greatest Hits CD recently which I love! Is Aphrodite worth buying though?
