Picture I took a few months back of one of my cats. Well, three are in the photo but the main cat in the picture, stealing the limelight, basically saying 'girl, look at that body'...

Weird name in Spider. But, when we got him and his brother from a cat rescue centre they had named him Spider as they say he was small and curled up looking like a spider... thinking about it now it makes zero sense. The name stuck, though.

Trademark of his is jumping onto your shoulders and kneading your back to pieces.

oooohhhh! My new favourite thread!

I've just spent a very pleasant ten mins or so going through all the pet pics. Lovely. So many gorgeous creatures.

Marc: loving that face! Look at those eyes, they're fabulous.

I've already plastered pics of Carrot (full name: Carrot Pilausson) all over the place...but **** it, I think he's beautiful so am going to post here too :p

About 3 months old, taste testing mum's front garden:

Hahahaha! Love it.

Oh, and just two more I promise, then I'll stop!

Carrot at 4 and a half weeks. Trouble with a capital C.
At this point in time I was beside myself with impatience to bring him home from Guernsey.

And at 8 weeks....asleep and looking like butter wouldn't melt in his mouth and in no way the same puppeh that just trashed my living room:p

i'm so jealous, i would love a dog like that..

DanaC 24-08-2013 02:48 PM

He is a sweetie. And excellent company. Except for the times when he is occupied in his self appointed role of Cat Alarm.

Drew. 24-08-2013 02:53 PM

this is the first time they have been in the same room together without the cat trying to claw his eyes out

Awesome pic. You can practically see what the dog is thinking :P

Also: Niamh, that's horrible. Awful situation to be in when your dog is attacked by another dog, but by three? That must have been terrible.

Carrot's a Bearded Collie, usually they look a bit like an Old English Sheepdog, but smaller, with less frizz to the fur and with a tail. I don't much like the full on bearded collie coat though. Gets matted unless you are prepared to spend several hours a day grooming them, and hides their shape, which is one of the things I love about them. Not to mention getting too hot when it's sunny. I usually let it grow to about half length for the winter.

He isn't as small as he looks on those pics. He's about 25 kilos, at 20 months with some filling out still to do. Not exactly a Dogue de Bordeaux, but not really a small dog either. Bit bigger and heavier set than a border collie.

ah a Bearded Collie.. i'm not the biggest fan of the long full coats either but they still look good, just a lot of hair to look after .. this length would be perfect for me

DanaC 24-08-2013 03:29 PM

I like that length. That's about the length my last beardie, Pilau was about half the year.
