What a surprise at this being bumped again, some people have real issues
but rofl @ the idea of a lot parents allowing their children to choose their own religion and not baptise/christen them |
issues for finding something funny
okay |
Not Jack that finds jokes about HIV hilarious insinuating that others have real issues for laughing at something on the internet..
|
The only time you bump this thread is when you've found something (presumably because you go looking for it) about transsexuality, I would say that's an obsession and therefore an issue. Even I don't care that much about it
And not Josy not understanding that the HIV thing wasn't a joke and that it was funny because of how the person texting was shot down :o |

This thread has been constantly bumped by you trying to provoke a reaction and even now after three weeks since it died you want to drag it up again, there is literally no other reason to post something like that in here when you know it's just baiting
|

My point was that you were being extremely hypocritical. |
Not Josy still not understanding the joke, it wasn't funny because he had contracted HIV, it was funny because he thought he was being clever trying to patronise the ex and was then shot down with something that he wasn't expecting, there's a difference
Doubt it was a real text anyway |
its posted because 95% of the people in this thread think its funny.

I know some people will assume I'm just being flippant here but I swear this is a genuine, serious question I've just thought of - Josy (or any mod), if I or someone else were to say idk post a joke which could be construed as racist or homophobic, but it would literally just be a joke (I'm sure everyone on here by now knows that I think with comedy anything goes and should go)...then would they be infracted or warned for it?
I don't think they should be nor do I think things like Ninastar just posted should be either, I obviously get that picture is a joke...but surely if you were going to punish people for posting jokes which some would interpret as offensive on grounds of race or sexuality, the same thing should apply to something like this? Just because some people don't think it's a real issue (like some people don't/didn't about homosexuality) it doesn't mean that it isn't to some...so what would be the rules around this? As I said I personally think anything should go but I'm genuinely curious (I swear) here as to how that'd be enforced, surely you can't have one rule for some and another for others? |

-didn't find it funny tbh, just because it was about as subtle as a brick -
|
I never said it was offensive, I don't get offended by jokes...people on here should realise that by now...what I'm saying is that if some people on here were to post jokes that could be construed by some as to be offensive on the grounds of race or sexuality and those would be punished (which I also don't agree they should be, a joke is a joke), then why would something like this be allowed if there are genuinely some people who would probably find it offensive?
I don't think it should be punished, I don't think any jokes should be punished, my point is that I'm sure on here they would be, maybe they wouldn't idk, so I'm just asking a serious question that I'm curious about as to if and how it's determined that some groups are more important to prevent being 'offended' than others |
If something offensive is posted it would get dealt with, I don't think anyones ever been infracted for posting something that was intended to be a joke (within reason), the comment would more than likely just be removed..
I couldn't possibly give a definite answer right now because it would obviously depend on what exactly had been posted. |
But how do you guys determine what is 'offensive'? Surely that differs from person to person? While I don't get offended by jokes, others obviously might and then you get into issues of well that's offensive to gay people/black people/disabled people, so my point would be then why would this group of people not be included in that if there would be some whom could be offended by it?
So if someone were to report that, it would be removed but not infracted? I think I get it I did once get infracted though for posting a 'racist' joke (I can't even remember what it was but it's on my infractions profile with the 'racist' reason next to it) and I could've sworn I was maybe warned for this because I remember being annoyed at how it was clearly mocking the Mail but perhaps I wasn't idk, and I know other jokes have been removed over the years on here on grounds of them being 'offensive' to certain groups so I was genuinely just wondering how you decide who takes preference (if anyone) and why |

And also things are dealt with at the mods discretion that deals with it. |
Also that post you linked to wasn't warned or infracted.
|
Fair enough, I appreciate the answers. Thank you :)

okay, THIS is the kind of thing that made me start this thread. people on tumblr try and discredit people/start witch hunts and it's a serious case of straw clutching
