What a surprise at this being bumped again, some people have real issues

but rofl @ the idea of a lot parents allowing their children to choose their own religion and not baptise/christen them

Ninastar 29-04-2014 11:34 PM

issues for finding something funny

okay

Josy 29-04-2014 11:36 PM

Not Jack that finds jokes about HIV hilarious insinuating that others have real issues for laughing at something on the internet..

Jack_ 29-04-2014 11:38 PM

The only time you bump this thread is when you've found something (presumably because you go looking for it) about transsexuality, I would say that's an obsession and therefore an issue. Even I don't care that much about it

And not Josy not understanding that the HIV thing wasn't a joke and that it was funny because of how the person texting was shot down :o

This thread has been constantly bumped by you trying to provoke a reaction and even now after three weeks since it died you want to drag it up again, there is literally no other reason to post something like that in here when you know it's just baiting

I don't care if the HIV thing was a joke or not, if it was in fact a real text message which I doubt then finding the fact that someone had possibly contracted HIV from an ex hilarious is even worse..

My point was that you were being extremely hypocritical.

Jack_ 29-04-2014 11:44 PM

Not Josy still not understanding the joke, it wasn't funny because he had contracted HIV, it was funny because he thought he was being clever trying to patronise the ex and was then shot down with something that he wasn't expecting, there's a difference

Doubt it was a real text anyway

Ninastar 29-04-2014 11:44 PM

its posted because 95% of the people in this thread think its funny.

I know some people will assume I'm just being flippant here but I swear this is a genuine, serious question I've just thought of - Josy (or any mod), if I or someone else were to say idk post a joke which could be construed as racist or homophobic, but it would literally just be a joke (I'm sure everyone on here by now knows that I think with comedy anything goes and should go)...then would they be infracted or warned for it?

I don't think they should be nor do I think things like Ninastar just posted should be either, I obviously get that picture is a joke...but surely if you were going to punish people for posting jokes which some would interpret as offensive on grounds of race or sexuality, the same thing should apply to something like this? Just because some people don't think it's a real issue (like some people don't/didn't about homosexuality) it doesn't mean that it isn't to some...so what would be the rules around this?

As I said I personally think anything should go but I'm genuinely curious (I swear) here as to how that'd be enforced, surely you can't have one rule for some and another for others?

i don't see caitlin's picture as offensive. the hilarity lies in the fact that it's so absurd.

Shaun 29-04-2014 11:53 PM

-didn't find it funny tbh, just because it was about as subtle as a brick -

Jack_ 29-04-2014 11:56 PM

I never said it was offensive, I don't get offended by jokes...people on here should realise that by now...what I'm saying is that if some people on here were to post jokes that could be construed by some as to be offensive on the grounds of race or sexuality and those would be punished (which I also don't agree they should be, a joke is a joke), then why would something like this be allowed if there are genuinely some people who would probably find it offensive?

I don't think it should be punished, I don't think any jokes should be punished, my point is that I'm sure on here they would be, maybe they wouldn't idk, so I'm just asking a serious question that I'm curious about as to if and how it's determined that some groups are more important to prevent being 'offended' than others

Josy 29-04-2014 11:58 PM

If something offensive is posted it would get dealt with, I don't think anyones ever been infracted for posting something that was intended to be a joke (within reason), the comment would more than likely just be removed..

I couldn't possibly give a definite answer right now because it would obviously depend on what exactly had been posted.

Jack_ 30-04-2014 12:09 AM

But how do you guys determine what is 'offensive'? Surely that differs from person to person? While I don't get offended by jokes, others obviously might and then you get into issues of well that's offensive to gay people/black people/disabled people, so my point would be then why would this group of people not be included in that if there would be some whom could be offended by it?

So if someone were to report that, it would be removed but not infracted? I think I get it

I did once get infracted though for posting a 'racist' joke (I can't even remember what it was but it's on my infractions profile with the 'racist' reason next to it) and I could've sworn I was maybe warned for this because I remember being annoyed at how it was clearly mocking the Mail but perhaps I wasn't idk, and I know other jokes have been removed over the years on here on grounds of them being 'offensive' to certain groups so I was genuinely just wondering how you decide who takes preference (if anyone) and why

Not that's not what would definitely happen, like I said above it would depend what had been posted.

And also things are dealt with at the mods discretion that deals with it.

Josy 30-04-2014 12:20 AM

Also that post you linked to wasn't warned or infracted.

Jack_ 30-04-2014 12:24 AM

Fair enough, I appreciate the answers. Thank you :)

Destroy the idea that bisexual people can only be attracted to cis men and women. Destroy it.
pansexuality
what you’re thinking of is called pansexuality
Bisexuality: attraction to two or more genders.
cis men and women + trans men and women = the same two genders.
If they were the same there wouldn’t be two different names for them I think. Also there are bi people who are not attracted to transgendered people, so if you are I think you fit in with the pan jump in the water’s nice

okay, THIS is the kind of thing that made me start this thread. people on tumblr try and discredit people/start witch hunts and it's a serious case of straw clutching

White, stomping with ~~~misandry, your litas and Tina Fey gifs while simultaneously ignoring women of color and their feelings but having plenty of time to talk about winged eyeliner and discussing which white basic actor is your new “bae”, feminists keep messaging me saying I’m sexist for the piggy part of my url and I laughed and scrolled but then scrolled back cause I remembered I had a lil somethin somethin that might be relevant.
The title of this blog refers to these tweets (not fatshaming a thin woman) that were the cause of me unfollowing her (how did you think I found all these in the first place, duh). If this isn’t acting like a misogynistic pig I don’t know what is. Let’s be real, azaleans (is that a type of enemy alien race?) do anything to excuse her behavior cause she’s a white woman doing black music with a body and mannerisms typically associated with black women. She’s pear shaped with a “fat” ass. Black girls with literally the same measurements are called ghetto and shamed for their curves. She raps like a non archival photo copied T.I., southern twang and all, but since she’s actually Australian and white her stans are okay with it cause once the mic drops she has an ~exotic accent~ and ~cute voice.~ Her use of misogynistic slurs to put down other women and build up herself are in your twitter bio cause it’s so swaggy hunty gurl spill that fancy tea!!! But when Beyonce, Lil Kim, Nicki Minaj, Trina, or any black female artist (who im not saying are without flaws) talks about “slaying hos” and how bitches should bow down, it’s suddenly a problem that requires full length articles in actual publications and countless tumblr posts. Like Miley Cyrus, she’s used black women as props and until recently had exclusively black dancers who twerked the **** out on a hand stand, doin that thang while she stood there and occasionally gave a D- booty shake that the crowd still went off for more than the actual pros popping their pussies off the damn ceiling and filling me with the holy spirit. Do us all a favor and accept you’re excusing her being a careless racist because of her appearance. You can still wanna lick her pussy, bop to her white girl anthems or have your body tied to a carriage and dragged by Brad Pitt like Eric Bana in Troy just to reach that ass. But be real and quit denying that what she’s said is okay by anything but Donald Sterling’s standards. As Paul Mooney once said, “Everybody wants to be a *****, but nobody wants to be a *****." She’s a low quality xerox of black female rappers and white America couldn’t wait so they didn’t have to bop to actual hip hop anymore from the people who created it.

And for the 956 messages calling me a hater, a hater is someone who reads with no resume and critiques with no credentials. I have more degrees than a thermometer. I don’t know what bullet-less gun y’all were holding when you thought you had a shot at rationalizing these “jokes” when they’re not hot, not even lukewarm. Now run and tell that.

and have a lovely evening! xxx
