Nothing at all like same old England. We are going into this tournament with 90% of the country backing us to take youth with nothing to lose.

Deserved at least a draw, entertaining throughout with loads of positives to take from the game. Sterling, Sturridge, Henderson and Welbeck were great.. defence was pretty strong except for Baines being isolated all game. Bit more clinical finishing and we could have had 3 or 4. Take out Rooney for Barkley against Uruguay.. Bring on the remaining games..

Pirlo was unbelievable.

All or nothing next game then for both teams. Wasn't even too bad, apart from the left hand side and Gerrard being taught a lesson by Pirlo. Should of took Cole and Shaw at Left Back...

Good and exciting game ending in a Italy win. England had many chances, but the shots were well of the target, unlike Italy who had better finishing although fewer shots.

So now after 1st round Costa Rica leads the group. Crazy, isn´t it :laugh:

England will next face an annoyed and potentially dangerous but a little crippled Uruguay, while Italy will face the surprise winners Costa Rica.
