Paulie's one of the main characters on this show and only just recently has truly been this villainous person that he's been made out to be for weeks/months. Honestly I just like plenty of assholes on these shows anyway because they do bring entertainment but it's ridiculous that people apparently CAN'T like Paulie when a much more boring, played out, and more offensive asshole, Evel Dick, has a whole bunch of fans.

Paulie made a couple ignorant remarks but I'm pretty much over it already although I personally don't really see him in the same light anymore. And that's not even necessarily due to the comments he made, more so just the general way he's been acting while he's defensive. That's what made me find him annoying the most. The way he argued was like a complete douche-ass... it reminded me of how someone like Vanessa would argue but then throw in the insensitive comments as well. It was not a good look. I understand that.

But back to the point, I don't see how people CAN'T like Paulie when plenty of "assholes" are universally liked around here and in general. Paulie has been very funny/entertaining throughout this season. And like no he's not literally evil.

I KNOW fan favorites on here have said worse that is just brushed off as funny or ironic. The thing with Paulie is just that people have not liked him since they got a douchey vibe from him early on and everything he does is viewed with a magnifying glass until he finally goes over the line one night while he's really mad. He is indeed an ignorant person though.

The worst thing he said IMO was "you're as fake as those things on your chest" because that was taking a personal shot at someone in a very smug way. The rest were a few ignorant comments that will not AFFECT anyone. Like I could see Jersey girls maybe taking offense to it but I don't see how they could when it's such a ridiculous claim he's making in generalizing all of them. And if Bridgette said "I'm a feminist at heart so I'm going to side with her" I could see how Paulie would take that the wrong way, as ignorant as he may be with his comments afterwards.

Most of the US housemates are problematic so I'm not going to judge them as a person because If I was I would hate Paulie and wouldn't waste my time on this show because everything would annoy me. tbh every housemate who said things gets a pass etc I don;t think most of his fans, me and Raph included condone his behaviour or find it acceptable. I guess the thing with me is that Paulie's been an asshole this entire time. He spent the past four to six weeks proudly marching around the house reciting advice that Derrick gave him, openly declaring his preferred boot list, and blatantly pushing his agenda over other people's without even considering that they'd catch on. He's been trashing Natalie from the start because of what he supposedly knows about her on the outside and trashes her decision to not drink in the house even though he brags about how Derrick told him not to drink for strategic purposes. His relationship with Zakiyah consisted of him being emotionally abusive towards her and gaslighting her, and then having sex with her in the presence of others to mark his territory.

And now that he's facing true adversity for the first time this game, he's bitching about Natalie's fake boobs and how she didn't dare disclose this information to everyone and openly making jabs to her face about them, continuing to go on deranged rants about how Jersey girls are scum of the earth (ed: I've lived in New Jersey my entire life and I have no idea what he means by this), shouting for hours on end about how Natalie's a piece of **** for trying to manipulate Zakiyah even though everything Natalie said about him to her is true, calling on his female relatives to beat the **** out of Michelle and Bridgette, saying that Bridgette shouldn't be feminist because she's an ER nurse and in his mind feminism is the gender equivalent of racism, and cornering Natalie and trying to force an apology out of her while still thinking that he has nothing to apologize for.

I also disagree with the insistence that he was playing a good game at any point. He literally took the same approach Frank did after he saw firsthand how poorly it ended for him.

Yes obviously people are entitled to their opinions, nobody ever disputed that. It just seems that the people who still have Paulie at the top of their lists either don't watch the feeds much/at all so they haven't seen any of this stuff firsthand (I suspect/hope this changes on Sunday assuming the edit is honest), or have had Paulie up top the whole time and are still clinging to preseason opinions. But even then I think a lot of the people who liked Paulie at first are seeing what he's really like now.

@Braden, do you not like any reality TV show character that has asshole-ish behavior that you may have excused because they entertain you? Because I can point out two just off the top of my head that I've seen that you like: Courtney from Survivor: China & Natalie from Micronesia. Obviously you might view them differently or see different levels of how much these characters are assholes or not but I'd assume you like those people because you either find something else entertaining in them or you find them entertaining while they're being an ass - which is perfectly fine to do IMO... that's something pretty common for me personally tbh. If you like them / support them / defend them that doesn't say anything about you as a person.

Just to respond to your comment Braden, as I said in the previous post, I like Paulie because I really like the fact that he can detach emotion from all his decisions, or create false emotion from a strategic standpoint. Before the show even started the way in which he spoke during his interview with Jeff really resonated with me, because he speaks like I do. It's hard to explain really, but just because I relate to his personality and his mannerisms, does not mean that I relate to his views about women, violence what not. I see this as a game, and he is the first player since Dan who is playing the game in the way that I see as most fit.

It has nothing to do with Cody, so I'm not quite sure why you're calling me shallow. I liked Cody because I liked how he was a really nice guy not afraid to embrace his feminine side. I like Paulie because he reminds me of myself. In a similar fashion, I like the Reilly sisters for different reasons. Further, whilst I didn't really care for Vanessa last year, Tiffany was one of my favourites this year. So no, having a sibling that was in the house before means nothing to me in terms of whether I'll like the housemate or not!

Sorry, I don't buy it. You've proven to have a shallow correlation with who you support in the past. For example, you like pretty much every single Middle Eastern/South Asian female who has played the North American version of the game. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with that, but it shows that you're bias and are shallow in your support for some housemates.

The whole 'I relate to him' subject baffles me because beyond the fact that he may speak a certain way and have mannerisms that you relate to, he's still proven to be an arrogant arsehole with a lack of respect for his fellow houseguests.
