i don't know how much masterchef is scripted, but he must have practiced many of those lines that caused offense to contestants, which is pretty weird. The production company obviously thought what he was saying was absolutely fine as they filmed it :skull:
|
The rest is entertainment and News Agent podcast explained this really well.
To summarise, most of the very strong stuff probably would not have made the final cut so Gregg, if he didn't watch the final edited show and saw how much was cut, probably thought his "saucy humour" was fine. You're right though, the show is heavily scripted. |
I wonder how everyone would feel if Greg said "would you eat food off my cock?" to your wife/daughter/sister/mother...? Or while she was bending down at the oven thrust his hips toward her face? Would that be okay, just banter?
|
He has crossed the line of decency
BBC can not just say it is on Banijay as they did bugger all about him. Sack him. Put in a new talent. Loads can take his place |

I'm really surprised that with so many complaints Banijay didn't at least conduct an investigation |
I know that the “Greg Wallace” issue is ongoing but say that it all comes out that he has indeed been a sex fiend for all these years ..
Won’t his legal team face any consequences when they are putting out statements like this !!!? —- His lawyers have said it's "entirely false that he engages in behaviour of a sexually harassing nature". |

Fire Him then he can no longer pay those stupid Lawyers |
Quote:
Yes they are protecting their brand or something stupid like that. It is a Massive Production Company The BBC can remove him from from that show. It would be understandable |

Are you sure? Way I see it I've highlighted women can be just as bad as Gregg. Sometimes worse if they are tv personalities. And also the BBC should be the main topic of conversation on this story. meh. |
|
I have actually lost count of the number of women who have already come forward..

what I cannot get my head around and pardon me because I rarely watched Masterchef or its Celeb version but when I did, John Torode was the Star and Wallace was his side kick, what was it about him that made them keep him on for so long, its not like he is easy on the eye, or witty or funny, so I just dont get it at all....Helen Lederer did a piece where she said she went into Celebrity Masterchef thinking she would have a laugh with the hosts but having a laugh was saved for the male guests, she contrasted it to going on the Chase where Bradley Walsh treats everyone equally...its all so bizarre that they let him continue for so long

John Torode has always been the main star of Masterchef tbh, i also don't know why he isn't more involved with the professionals show alongside Marcus, Monica instead of Gregg (whom with all honesty is just a vegetable farmer, not an actual chef)
that said i always found Gregg more in his place in shows like How It's Made, or Eat Well for Less in terms of Gregg's replacement, how about John's wife Lisa Faulkner for Celeb Masterchef, and for the civilian masterchef series Gino D'Acampo would be a decent choice i think (has already worked on another BBC show Ready Steady Cook as one of the chefs + he got more experience as a presenter now too) |
This aged well  |

You never truly know what people in the Showbiz world are like though. |

20 years ago or so, people on TV were always given an unwarranted level of respect, just for appearing on the TV. Wallace is still judged under that criteria. These days, it's completely different
|
…I think that it’s actually more about the money, honey than anything…if the viewing figures and popularity have sustained then I think that sadly that’s what would have over-ruled and so maybe lots of placating or even warning words to Gregg …but a calming of complaints and situations etc…had it all been revealed when it should have and had any appropriate actions been implemented and ‘that boat been overturned’ when it should have been overturned because of what females were being subjected to…then there is such a risk of a fast descent in popularity…but these things obviously can’t be contained forever…but I think that money is sadly always the deciding factor….

His ghost writer said in the interview that she wasnt a 'middle class woman of a certain age' when she did Wallaces book but she is now. She thought that she couldn't speak out when she was younger and new to the busniness. |
|
|
…now the accusations are of him sending ‘gross texts and creepy voice mails’ to a female reporter…so for sure, it’s looking more like done days for him in terms of a TV career…

Greg Quits BBC Masterchief : allegations of inappropriate sexual comment
I read somewhere that some of the factories he filmed that series “In the Factory” … made complaints
