Everton hand five-year deals to Phil Jagielka and Joseph Yobo

Everton have secured the long term futures of Joseph Yobo and Phil Jagielka, with the two defenders both putting pen to paper on new five-year deals.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/telegraph...a_1408500c.jpg

he news of the pair committing to the club until 2014 comes as a boost ahead of their FA Cup final meeting with Chelsea, which player of the season Jagielka will miss due to ruptured cruciate ligaments.

Everton have kept 19 clean sheets this year with both players having exceptional seasons as Everton qualified for the rebranded Europa League.

Sunderland potential managers:

Steve Bruce - Wor magpie.
Gordon Strachan - Wee ginger Celtic stonk.
Steve McLaren - Twat.

Great ****ing choice.
(*prays and hopes for Bilic, even though his odds are almost on par with Shearer's*!!)

Lauren 26-05-2009 02:19 PM

Btw some good cannon fodder in next season p'ship, hopefully not including Sunderland, but they're: Burnley, Hull, Wolves, Birmingham.

Maybe Wigan and Stoke depending on what they do.

Novo 26-05-2009 02:29 PM

Am expecting everton to challenge for the top 4 now

Got to be done We have a better squad now then what we had in 2004/2005 season when we finished 4th

Hopefully Buy some World class players like Diego And Joćo Moutinho

Novo 26-05-2009 02:30 PM

We can give sunderland Van der meyde

Lauren 26-05-2009 02:31 PM

I've a feeling both Everton and Arsenal are going to have a good season next time around.

What's everyones thoughts on Spurs? I have a feeling they're gonna drop average to mid-table, mid-lower-table. Could be a surprise.

Novo 26-05-2009 02:36 PM

1. Chelsea
2. Man utd
3. Liverpool
4. Everton
.................................................. .................
5. Arsenal
6. Man city
7. Tottenham
8. Aston villa
9. West ham

15. Bolton
16. Birmingham
17. Hull
..............................................
18. Stoke
19. Wolves
20. Burnley

My early prediction :joker:

Tottenham are hard to predict

All depends what happens in the transfer market

Lauren 26-05-2009 02:40 PM

Good predictions, Andy. I'd maybe have Bolton and Birmingham lower, and Stoke a bit higher - but then again - depends what the teams do with the transfer market. If Delap, Shawcross or Faye goes - Stoke are fecked.

Novo 26-05-2009 02:42 PM

Yeah delap as well

Think he kept them up to be honest

how many goals did stoke score with those long throws

Novo 26-05-2009 02:49 PM

Bolton you think

They are dodgy as well they could be in trouble

I think one off the bigger teams will have a flop season am going with arsenal i think there going to lose a lot of big names this summer Might even be Aston villa if barry goes

All the players on the transfer market now

Downing
Owen
Tuncay
Alves
Wheater
Guiterrez
Nolan

Cant wait for the window to open!!!!

Some off them would be some good moves for sunderland to make

Downing to sunderland Would be good

Richardson and downing on the wings

Pukka!!!!!

My prediction of next season's table:

1 Liverpool (86 pts)

2 Arsenal (81 pts)

3 Man United (79 pts)

4 Chelsea (73 pts)

----------------------------------------

5 Everton (67 pts)

6 Aston Villa (61 pts)

7 Man City (56 pts)

----------------------------------------

8 West Ham (56 pts)

9 Blackburn (55 pts)

10 Fulham (51 pts)

11 Tottenham (49 pts)

12 Portsmouth (46 pts)

13 Bolton (44 pts)

14 Birmingham (41 pts)

15 Wigan (39 pts)

16 Sunderland (36 pts)

17 Wolves (35 pts)

----------------------------------------

18 Stoke (35 pts)

19 Hull (34 pts)

20 Burnley (27 pts)

That is just a rough judgement of what I think the table will look like at the end of next season.

Key:

Green = Champions League position

Blue = UEFA Cup position

Yellow = Mid-table position

Red = Relegation position

I dont think burnley will finish last. They will probs end in the bottom half but not in 20th place. But i think the top 4 will be right :)

Torres will run straight past Jagielka and slide one under Howard while Yobo watches on from the bench.
