I never wanted this referendum in the first place because I knew this would be the result. The politics of fear always wins (see: last year's general election) and on the subject of Trump I also wouldn't rule a presidential victory out now either.

All I can do is laugh. I will laugh at those who voted for this who find that in the near future they're being forced to work longer, for less and with less rights like holiday pay when the Tories come for a trashing of them. I will laugh when their bills for things that were capped under EU law skyrocket. I will laugh if and when it transpires that you need a ****ing visa to visit France. Only then will people realise the mistake they've made.

That said, I am delighted at how engaged so many people were in democracy and politics, it is great to see. Congrats to the Leave side, but your insults about sour grapes and being 'bitter' are completely pointless. Of course I'm ****ing bitter. This is MY future you've just ****ed, and I will bloody well tell you about it

Hope the Scots get another opportunity to get the **** away from Little Englanders and rightly take it this time

Excellent post :clap1:

I'm not saying all Leave voters by ANY stretch of the means but quite a few seem to have voted out because of pure ignorance and racism.

You're assuming your opinion is right and everyone else who voted to leave is a little bit silly and didn't think it through. How likely do you think that is?

Yes I and even Joey
noticed Labour Voters voting leave
just to get the PM Out

Well done to the more impassioned campaign winning.

I wish that more of the Remain voters had've voted (including myself) as we needed to save our Economy from falling instead of allowing a vocal minority to make Immigration the bigger thing.

I honestly think that if more of the Remain campaigners had've voted in this Referendum that we would've seen a different result as despite way more Out campaigners voting in this Referendum, they only won with 51 to 52% of the vote.

And Sky Nazi need to stop using their Pom Poms against what's best for this country, having our Pound's value being lowered is not a good thing and is more important to fix than going against Germany.

There's two sad things about this Jack.

1. Innocent people who wanted an easy life will now pay the price for what the Leave campaigners have done (including myself) will be screwed over by this.

2. The older generations spited the younger generations who will have to live in this country for many more years to come, just because the older generations hate Immigration and Muslims.

But I agree with you on how nice it was to see so many people involved in this discussion.

its branding people as silly, racist etc that has caused this result.

Mock, you don't know how any of the generations voted. As for immigration, for years no one's been allowed to have a dialogue about immigration because the Left all scream "racist". If we'd had that dialogue and immigration had been controlled, the result would have been different.

Your comments seem very passionate. Shame you weren't passionate enough to vote.

I genuinely hope that the optimism about this out vote is correct. I guess we will find out once the new recession is over.

I don't really get why cameron has resigned though, he resigned over actually fulfilling one of his manifesto promises?

Suze 24-06-2016 11:17 AM

Very pleased with the result. Thought it would be close, but maybe swing towards the remain, so a happy surprise at the result :)

You can't compare countries with each other as they have different circumstances and are run differently.

The UK had the 5th best Economy in the world whilst being in the EU, we had it great and if people was really patriotic about this country they wouldn't have voted to jeopardize our Economy which is the most important thing alongside Law & Order for every country.

So yeah just because places like Norway had it all sorted (which wouldn't have happened overnight) doesn't mean that the UK are in the position to do this.

Tbh I'm supporting them this time.

1. They don't get their voices heard a lot of the time over England.

2. I believe that a Country should Govern itself at a basic level.

The only thing that makes me fear for them is financially it will screw them over for awhile being out of the UK.

Glenn. 24-06-2016 11:30 AM

Can we stop calling the leave voters racist people.

A good 80% of them.

I've heard most of them speak and it was all about one issue.

_Tom_ 24-06-2016 11:31 AM

LOL @ "Brexit being won on fear". The people of the UK have rejected a campaign built on months of non-stop fear and negativity by voting out.

If not for Farage and how strong UKIP looked at one stage in the election...Cameron would not have **** himself about losing voters to them and as such promised the referendum to begin with :p

There was an article from The Independent that showed that 80% of Out Campaigners would turnout for this Referendum, while only 70% of the Remain Campaigners would turnout.

Basically do the Maths for if everyone on both sides had've voted and Remain wins with 52%

Well that's a damning indictment of 80% of people who got off their arse go vote. You've heard most of them speak? MOST of them? Do you know how many people voted??

And as you weren't one of those people who bothered to vote it's a bit rich to whine about the outcome now.
