Jeremy, you also share the same reason as to why I haven't watched a full series off BBUK pre-BB10 and thats because they are so long.

Like I'm doing a BBUSA/CAN watch it's done in 30/40 episodes so it's easy.

If you want to watch a C4 series after/instead then try Ultimate Big Brother because you can experience all of the legends (Nikki, Makosi, Nadia, Brian D, Michelle, etc etc) but in the space of I think 18 days.
