Loved this film adaption of the book about a woman who hikes the pacific crest trail after her life falls apart. Reese wetherspoon does an amazing job, the storyline is beautiful and the soundtrack is just perfect.

Looking forward to seeing this, good to see you give it a 10/10

Dracula Untold. Another twist on the Dracula story. I kind of liked it, good effects, reasonable story, gorgeous Dracula. 8/10

Pride. About a group of gays and lesbians supporting the miners strike in the 80s and based on a true story. Really enjoyed it, great humour, very human stories all put together beautifully. Makes you realise how far we've come as a society in 30 years. 9/10

...I thought you would love it as well, and yeah it does make you realise just how far etc...some great acting, a lot of the cast were unknowns to me and of course Imelda.....one of my favourite British actresses....

Entourage - 8/10

It was such a long wait for this movie, I didn't think it was ever going to get made but I'm so glad they did and also done the show justice. The ending was a lot better and more fitting than the finale of the show, which is the main thing I wanted. Worth the wait.

..Taken 2 / because it was on TV...around 7 out of 10 I think...

The last couple of Nights have been guy night around here b/c my daughter is away and I am outnumbered :hehe: So we had a Planet of the Apes Marathon:

Planet of the Apes (2001): 6/10 at the most
Rise of the Planet of the Apes: solid 8/10 and was pleasantly surprised
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes: 7.2 loses points on predictability

Jack Ryan - It was alright 6/10
The Equalizer - I stopped watching with half an hour to go, not because it was bad I was just really tired and falling asleep, I need to finish it as I I was really enjoying it, I'll come back with my mark then

Behind the Candelabra. Funny and surprisingly sad. Brilliant performances from Michael Douglas and Matt Damon 9/10

Livia 07-07-2015 12:29 PM

Mrs Miniver. Lovely old black and white film from WW2 starring Greer Garson (who got the Oscar for this film) and Walter Pidgeon. I love an old black and white film and this has to be one of the best. I'm giving it a 9.5/10

Niamh. 07-07-2015 01:04 PM

The Grey - I usually can't fault the great Liam Neesan but argh I hated this movie 4/10

also :

Spoiler:

That ending :fist: Nothing worse than watching a film that's a bit crap and deciding to go all the way to the end just to see what happens and then they don't end it with a proper conclusion anyway

Jessica. 07-07-2015 02:39 PM

Phoebe in wonderland. It was quite sad. D:

Was it in IMAX 3-D

As other smaller Cinemas
people said the 3-D did not work.

Jurassic World -- perfect theatre movie... Great movie, I kept lol inappropriately at the human deaths by dinosaurs, lucky the theatre was almost empty :hehe:
8.5/10

Chappie-- I think I need those two hours back, but the ending turned out alright... I worry they left it open for a sequel
5.5/10

Marsh. 09-07-2015 03:16 AM

I loved Chappie. :flutter:

Completely predictable but good fun.

Although I spent half the film listening to my sister slagging that singer's hair off. :joker:
