"Before I came into this game I said 'I wish I was a man' because men in this game seem to be able to get two young girls to follow them to the end, and that's something I can't do, but when I met Coach I saw him as the equivalent of a young girl."

Brandon: Just a really quick question, did you know I was going home?
Albert: Let me tell you right now- Brandon: Did you know I was going home? Albert: I'm gonna tell you right now- Brandon: Did you know I was going home? Yes or no? Albert: This is the answer to that question- Brandon: Yes or no? Albert: I was told- Brandon: YES OR NO?!?!?! There's no explanation. Albert: Okay. Brandon: Did you know I was going home? Albert: Brandon- Brandon: YES OR NO or I'll move on and then you screw yourself. Albert: I did not know that you were going home- Brandon: Okay that's it, that's all I need to know. You lie. Albert: Can I just tell you one thing? Brandon can I just- Brandon: Thank you guys. and then IMMEDIATELY afterwards... Whitney: Congrtutlations. Um.... Albert. You were sleazy. A little sleazy :\ |
Sophie: Can I just clear something up about the Idol too? The Idol was actually not found the way that Upolu thought it was found. Albert found the clue with the help of Coach and I distracting the team. Coach then found the Idol and we originally thought we'd keep it for the three of us, and then it got to the point where Brandon was hunting like anything for an Idol that wasn't there anymore, and so we staged a discovery of the Idol.
Brandon: O_O  Cochran didn't even need to ask his question at that point, Sophie just sealed the deal right there. |
Jeff highlighting the Coach/Ozzy, Cochran, and Brandon/Russell segments in his post-vote reveal pre-reunion spiel and then literally going "Oh, and Sophie won a million bucks! :o" really just sums up modern day Survivor.

Nooooooooooo @ Robb going. Figured it was coming up though and there was no chance he was staying by the end of the episode.
For whatever reason I was actually assuming Robb would be more villainous, maybe even do/say things that could be viewed offensively because of his big mouth :joker: but he's actually been a pretty great guy and it really shined through this episode. :clap1: |
Shii Ann got super robbed. A fake merge? Wtf was that?
|
"I changed the game to a level... that you cannot even comprehend!!!!!!" wow I did not miss Russell Hantz at all, can't wait to rewatch RI next!!!!!!! :)
(honestly though, so far aside from this Hantz bull****, this reunion isn't terrible? It's not good but not remarkably so. I imagine that anything seems positive when you think about the abomination that was the RI reunion) |
Pregnant Edna  Jeff being in disbelief that Christine and Stacey are still super close friends
Fun season! IDK, SoPa gets a lot of **** because it was from an admittedly bad era of Survivor and is sandwiched between two godawful seasons, but I think for all the flaws it has it still has a lot going for it! Sophie Edna Stacey Christine Prince Albert Cochran (most pleasant surprise for me!) Semhar Dawn Brandon (uncomfortably fascinating sums him up best) Papa Bear Whitney Coach (he is suuuuuuuch a scumbag this time around but he was essential) Rick Keith Ozzy (again, for such a prominent character in Survivor lore I really have no opinion of him) Mikayla Elyse Jim |
you're rewatching RI? oh God good luck

At least he got warmed up with the worst redemption island season............................................ ..................................x

Edna feeling excluded from the tribe <\3
Light the fire under your arse, babe. |
So I've just finished watching Edna and Brandon's boot episodes. Both were great for completely different reasons.
I'm glad Edna's was completely centred around her, and how she was emotionally and strategically reacting to everything. I'm glad I saw more of Edna's personality because I wasn't completely sold by the hype, but I really enjoyed her throughout her last episode. She's completely different from how I remembered her years and years ago when I watched the first couple of episodes of SoPa :p Upolu turning on each other is so good to watch, but the constant God references are quite tedious. I don't want God to be the 21st survivor player of the season - I get that it's necessary because religion is a component for why some people make the decisions they do this season, but it's a bit much if you get what I mean. Brandon giving Albert the necklace was great though, and I'm glad Sophie survived. |
Watching the finale now.
Sophie screaming at Albert for not giving up to help her :joker: |
Sophie's breakdown during tribal & the fact she won last immunity

Okay, so I've finished South Pacific.
It was definitely enjoyable, but it was missing that kick that would've made it a great season. It was also hard to find someone to root for, since nobody on Savaii was particularly likable except from Papa Bear and Dawn. Semhar and Cochran were good characters, but the former was obviously not there long enough and I'm still not sure what my thoughts are in general to the latter. The characters I enjoyed from Upolu either went early, or only recieved worthy content towards the very end. I think Redemption Island is just such a ****ty concept that ruins the flow of the season. Although it does provide amusing moments (and I think this season out of the three is the best it was utilised), it just has too much of an effect on a game that is fine by itself. I'm glad Sophie won. Her victory reminds me of Michele's, in the fact that her edit towards the end is a realisation that she truely deserves to win. Though their edits to begin with seem like unfair portrayals based on producers being bitter that their ideals weren't acted out the they would have liked. Was Sophie an expected winner at the time, by the way? Moreover, I think her finale episode was such an entertaining part of Survivor in that it was a raw depiction of a human being playing Survivor and letting the show itself expose true character traits and providing a learning experience, as oppose to coming on the show desperately attempting to assert yourself as a character that causes their journey to come across disingenuous. I definitely have mild appreciation for South Pacific, but it's quite basic in comparison to other seasons that are very good, or very bad. I think the recap episode was when more people started to open up to the idea of Sophie winning -- that's when I finally realized that she was probably the winner. However, official edgic put all their eggs in Coach's basket despite the edit showing soooo many reasons as to why he lost, and they laughed at Sophie supporters because they're actually terrible at edgic and gave her constant MOR2s for like 12 episodes straight. You're definitely right in noticing some observations between Sophie and Michele, and the hype leading up to their victories is pretty similar. Michele had significantly more people believing that she could win than Sophie did, but mainly people were fooled largely because they are incapable of picking a winner who has a low-vis, more nuanced edit. It's not that the show didn't explain why Sophie and Michele won, it's just that it was easy to miss if you weren't looking for it. |
That's definitely clarified. Thank you :p
I understand why people would think Coach or Ozzy would win, moreso Coach. However, like you said, Rob's edit the season before as a winning returnee would suggest against that prediction. I definitely get that as a counter-argument. I dread to think what Sophie's edit would have been like had she not won :p |
Watching episode 2 of One World.
Watching them compete in a reward challenge without Jeff is trippy as **** :p |
Not even five minutes into the RI premiere and Stephanie has already creeped me the **** out with her confessional about how SHE'S GONNA STARE RUSSELL DOWN TO SHOW THAT SHE HAS SOME EVIL IN HER, BECAUSE IF SHE'S NOT THE ONE WHO HE PICKS TO TAKE TO THE END THEN SHE IS *DONE*
I feel like I need to shower already. |
and now Stephanie just compared Russell approaching her to talk with a prom date feeling... this is so ****ing creepy I can't deal with it.
|
Stephanie is pretty damn funny... :joker:
