Ultimately, this will lead to putin's downfall.

British people trust the EU over our leaders, and with Starmer about to try and talk Johnson into pushing for a no fly zone, I agree with them.

From your words
years ago on this great forum.,

I repeated it but if you do a bit of research you'll see that phase was coined before I was born.

That's all they are seen as by these monsters that make decisions like going to war. These poor young men either conscripted or with dreams of defensive battles are now the enemy of the world...the aggressors.

Yes Young Russian Troops
know they are cannon fodder.

Some have walked off.

But Others are ready to kill the
Ukrainian Army.

the no fly zone would leave russia free to let loose with their full artillery putting ukraine at further disadvantage, so i'm not convinced on that one. Thats not even mentioning the fact that it would be an automatic escalation to war across europe

It will one way or the other I think, the question is how much damage is he willing to do while he still can.

The scariest sentiment I've seen Putin express in interviews is that he knows he has the power to destroy the world, he doesn't want to destroy the world, but that for him "without Russia there is no world" or something to that effect. In other words, if Russia is ****ed he doesn't care if the whole world is ****ed.

The only safe route out of this is for there to be guarantees that Russia won't be completely economically destroyed by the end of it, IMO. If that's looking unlikely... he may well make it a fight to the death.

It's our troops trust that matters..

We will be sitting at home oblivious.

It actually isn't. Armies do what they're told (without meaning to be as blunt as that sounds), If they're told to invade a place, they'll do it, if they're told to defend a place, they'll do that too. But if 99% of citizens take to the streets to protest a governmental use of the military, then a politicians desire for self preservation will override any support the soldiers themselves have for their orders.

99 percent of brits taking to the streets in support of a war the EU will have to uptake, just aknt gonna happen..

Our soldiers will be the ones who's trust we need to follow, and they follow the queens government.

Livia 02-03-2022 01:59 PM

No one listened to all the people who marched against Tony Blair's illegal war.

I'm not talking about Ukraine - just why the opinion of soldiers doesn't matter to a government. If we have 10k soldiers in favour of something, but 70m citizens against it, then which of those groups poses the most threat to a politician come election time?

1m is not equal to 99%. There were more people cheering it on than trying to stop it.

I am talking about the ukraine situation.....therefore your points are baseless and pointless.

Beso 02-03-2022 02:06 PM

I mean you did post a graph regarding opinions on Ukraine, slim.

Then you turned it in to an opinion of soldiers, versus opinions of civilians issue. I met you on your own terms.

That's pretty clear.

And Its been explained that people on the streets will not change anything, because people just dont take to the streets...the army has never been deployed since whenever during public protest in the uk..if ever!

This time your graph would need more and more people than there ever has been to protest in the streets of the uk...twitter and Facebook wont work.

So you think your graph proves people trust the eu more than Johnson...But your graph also shows that people would have to come out in there tens of millions in SUPPORT of a war on EU territory.....THAT AINT GONNA HAPPEN..

So our soldiers will do as they are told and defend our queen and country when needed. Why you may ask..

Because that's why they signed up, so good luck getting the 10 percent of soldiers needed in your made up scenario.

bots 02-03-2022 02:28 PM

it will be article 5 that is activated if one of the nato countries gets attacked. So it has nothing to do with the EU and everything to do with Russia. If nato is not attacked, we wont go to war with russia

Beso 02-03-2022 02:34 PM

Article 5 was invented so a country on the receiving end of a terrorist attack could bomb the **** out of whatever country they blamed for it, without persecution from the other members of nato.

Not to attack russia if it invaded anywhere.

bots 02-03-2022 02:39 PM

article 5 protects every country within nato. An attack on one is an attack on all. It is legally binding and it has always been about russia
