That's not what I asked. Enjoying it, liking it I get. There are aspects to the pacing of the show I've much preferred in recent months.

But what exactly has been impressive?

Doing something the show did 20 years ago is hardly impressive.

Marsh. 10-01-2017 08:06 PM

But can I just point out every time a new producer starts there's a few on DS who after their first few episodes says it feels like old EE again. They even did it with Bryan Kirkwood.

Then the next producer arrives and NOW it's old school eastenders. Lmao

But if you watched the early episodes it is similar to this

Again, how is that impressive?

The show needs to keep moving forward with the times.

It seems to take two steps forward and ten back.

Making everything a big stunt or surprise returns every week is not the way forward

Ashley. 10-01-2017 08:12 PM

Didn't they have that exact same cliffhanger when Tosh found out Tina was cheating on her with Sonia? :idc:

Firewire 10-01-2017 08:13 PM

I only remember Shirley being soaked by the hose

Ashley. 10-01-2017 08:15 PM

And plus Shirley stopping Denise from going into the left cubical but not the right one made it quite obvious that there was someone in the right one (that and the right cubical being closed). :idc:

Firewire 10-01-2017 08:16 PM

Sharon was in there an awful long time... big meal?

Ashley. 10-01-2017 08:17 PM

She was doing what anyone would do and staying put to hear the gossip...

Ross. 10-01-2017 08:17 PM

The Denise and Shirley scene was the best in ages

Two of the best characters

Marsh. 10-01-2017 08:18 PM

My new sig is going to be Sharon emerging from the bogs smug about the smell she left behind.

Who mentioned stunts or surprise returns?

SOC was the one who brought back a big character from the 80s with a new head don't forget.

That's my point the show needed to move forward with the new generations not keep moving backwards.

He's replaced R&R with an old character. No new ones with any potential. That's not moving the show forward.

It was a bit random though considering they've shared little scenes together for years. Also, we never once saw Shirley confide in Denise as far as I remember so I didn't understand that bit.

To be honest the entire Buster suggestion was laughable and a bit of a reach to be honest.

What are you talking about they're always sharing scenes in the Minute Mart!

The epic Lucy story says no.

And literally the only stunt he did was the car crash in Jan 2015 and the fire in September 2014. Hardly every week.

He brought Stacey and Jane back. Not a character long forgotten with a new actress.

Yeah. Whilst they did become friends following Kevin's death they weren't ever THAT close.

I mean was Shirley around when everyone thought Denise was dead?

Hm he did bring back a character long forgotten with a new actor though

Ross. 10-01-2017 08:23 PM

There was a crash in Christmas 2015 too

Marsh. 10-01-2017 08:25 PM

Everytime I mention EE moving forward you seem to mention stunts Adam.

In general, EE has never had all that many stunts. Certainly not as many as the others.

Denver 10-01-2017 08:25 PM

Also his inability to tell one story in full without taking a few months break from it
