stoney12 02-11-2006 08:27 PM

InTheHood 05-11-2006 07:46 PM

Another season of mid-table mediocrity.

Beat Sparta 2-0 today......they are bottom though.

Afonso joint highest scorer in league

Dan_ 05-11-2006 08:24 PM

We lost to Burton friday night, let our foot of the gas 2nd half as they only had 10 men and they got back into it mainly down to our sub keeper having a mare.

Well done to Spurs today beating Chelsea, very entertaining game and Mourinho was pretty gracious in defeat it seemed, contrast that to Wenger who tried pushing Pardew over after Arsenal lost to West Ham, bit out of character for him but I suppose emotions were running high.

Lastly nice to see Kuyt settling into the prem so well.

I saw it last year but I am usually in the bath when it's on this year.

The lad who came second last year now plays for Stevenage reserves.

dogs 05-11-2006 11:21 PM

Stevenage they play newcastle once in 1998 very good game it was on sky

Dan_ 05-11-2006 11:24 PM

Yeah I was there, great game and so close to beating them.I think we tried taking the guy who scored for us in that game back on loan this week but he got injured in training.

dogs 05-11-2006 11:25 PM

o ddi you go to the game at newcastle 3.1 i think was it

Dan_ 05-11-2006 11:28 PM

2-1 it was.Tickets sold out before I could get them and I had school next day anyway.Shearer got both goals I believe and one never crossed the line.

dogs 05-11-2006 11:30 PM

Dan_ 05-11-2006 11:37 PM

Nah most are retired, one of the players was the dad of some girl in my year at primary school and he and a few of the players and the manager came in a few days before the first game.

dogs 05-11-2006 11:39 PM

What was that like
was that the 3 or 4 round someone said it was the 4 but i am sure it was the 3

Dan_ 05-11-2006 11:46 PM

It was round 4, I've got the programme.

It was cool meeting the players and having the manager watch us play at lunch time.

I so nearly had a west ham - spurs fiver win double this weekend even with the recent stats 4/1 at home for spurs to beat chels was a great price.

Funny how they went onto get into the cup final despite taking 2 games to beat us

James 06-11-2006 07:28 PM

I remember that match... Kenny Dalglish got annoyed by the remarks Stevenage's manager had made in the week leading up to the game and Dalglish said after the second replay something like.

'I wish them well in the FA Trophy... I hope they get knocked out in the next round!'

Dalglish did not want the game played at our ground, it wasn't in a good state back then and we put a temp stand up.

We ended up getting to the quater finals of the FA Trophy
