I know that floater has pretty much devolved into "I don't like you" but Liz and Julia were both in legitimate and solid alliances since Week 3? They're not floaters lol.

Razor 05-09-2015 08:58 PM

They've done nothing but ride on everyone else's coat tails.

Macie Lightfoot 05-09-2015 09:01 PM

What should they have done? It took 10 weeks for one of them to be nominated after POV happened, they're clearly doing something right. Blame the others for not breaking up such an obvious pair.

Calderyon 05-09-2015 09:32 PM

Liz and Julia are definitely not floaters. For my understanding, Floater is a person who "changes sides" according to who has the power, votes with the house, keeping social with most of the house, without having a solid alliance.

Liz and Julia have been in a solid 3/4 person alliance for major part of the season at this point.

And Liz has 4 comp wins (3 HOH, 2 of them final, 1 POV, 1 BOB win) and Julia has 1 POV, so they are competitive also.

Macie Lightfoot 05-09-2015 10:07 PM

Save yourself the energy and don't finish BB16. Complete garbage.

BBUKAUSFAN 06-09-2015 12:29 AM

Been watching it and as each ep goes on the messier and more unbearable it is to watch, the final 6 is truly dire.

Ill be happy with Austwin final 3 im so over Johnny mac, steve and Vanessa at this point

There are a few meanings of a floater.

A floater is someone who gets by, by doing very little and letting others do the dirty work. The twins have let their alliance do all the work and have really just sat back throughout the game. They have got far due to others and not from getting blood on their hands.

As for others letting them get so far it's probably because they never saw them as a threat as it is usual for close couples to get targeted and you aren't going to get a closer couple than family. The twins are a bit like meg in that they haven't really been seen as a game threat and have been allowed to float to the end. If the housemates saw this duo as a threat they would of been targeted along with the likes of clay and sheli.

A floater in the purest sense is someone who floats from alliance to alliance whenever there's a power shift. It's not even supposed to be insulting or derogatory; Jun's cited as one of the best winners and she employed floating very effectively.

It's a shame because the worst really has no meaning now. Ever since ~BB12 or so people have been misusing floater in the sense of "you're floating through the game by doing nothing" and it's just a meaningless insult now. It's really just a coded way to say "I don't like you" because it's a trope that is just that tired out (just like blood on your hands please don't tell me you just used that one without a hint of irony)

Anyway, the twins are clearly doing something right. The most powerful alliance this season was literally formed with the purpose of protecting them and getting Julia into the game, and once Julia got into the game everyone was dumb enough to keep Austwins together and now we're at the point where they are half of the house. Good for them.

I'm not watching the show but I hope that the twins make it far.

Damnit Vanessa... it would've been great if Steve put up the twins this week instead. cause spoiler

Spoiler:

Then Austin wins POV, takes Liz off the block, and all 3 would be safe this week. Then Vanessa goes. (although you never know, Vanessa could've managed to spin some **** to Austin anyway, but that's unlikely)

Macie Lightfoot 07-09-2015 12:43 AM

I get the Judas DR's and references not being very good even though I've liked a few of them but damn that Judas DR just now was epic. :laugh3:

LukeB 07-09-2015 01:56 AM

I have 4 more episodes left :flutter:

Braden 07-09-2015 10:19 AM

As if they tried to make it look like John threw that HOH competition.

They definitely put a shot of him after Steve winning the comp to make it look like he threw it.

LemonJam 07-09-2015 11:39 AM

I hate that Vanessa is in such a good position now because we don't get to see her at her finest anymore :( She's still literally the only winner outcome I'd be content with.

Nick. 07-09-2015 03:23 PM

I didn't like Vanessa but now James/Jackie/Meg have gone I'd like to see her win. Vanessa said something on live feed along the lines of 'you can make them want what you want' which I felt like summed up her game play.

LukeB 07-09-2015 11:50 PM

On Meg's and James's eviction...
