Yeah its going to be bad, but those figures are the peaks. Average was 12.09 (50.3%) for BBC and 2.86 (12.1%) for ITV

And thats with an hours build up before the match even began nobody watches an hour of build up the figures from 8pm-10:30pm will be much higher than the average.

mrmattybeck1 14-07-2014 09:33 AM

800k for bbuk last night not bad without plus one

@bbuk_fans 14-07-2014 09:33 AM

Channel 5's Big Brother continued with 800k (2.8%) at 9pm (128k/0.5%). - Digital Spy

Firstly.. why was ITVs ratings so poor when twitter went crazy telling everyone to boycott the BBCs coverage?? It's actually a poor rating for ITV!

and as for BB I'm kind of happy it got a figure as substantial as that! I was expecting 400K, not 800K! The share okay, is terrible for BB and even C5 standards, but that's of course likely after going against such strong competition! Interested to see what BBC Two and C4 got, especially as their programming was targeted towards different audiences than BBC, ITV and C5!

9pm:

World Cup- 12.09m (BBC1) *peak of 16m
World Cup- 2.82m (ITV)
Titanic- 971k (C4)
Big Brother- 920k (C5)
The Night Watch- 853k (BBC2)

All include +1. Not as bad as I thought to be fair for everyone else.

Overall peak including ITV and BBC1 combined for the match was almost 21m.

Hoping tonight can get 1.4m+ for Armageddon. It got that rating for Monday and Thursday last week so here's hoping!

Iceman 14-07-2014 09:44 AM

Thats decent

Jamesy 14-07-2014 09:56 AM

Decent rating.

Tonight will be the interesting one!

Kai Anders 14-07-2014 09:57 AM

despite ratings not being as people would like this series.. Channel 5 is currently very close to overtaking Channel 4 in shares..

Channel 4 share is at 4.4%
Channel 5 share is at 4.25%

I hope with Armageddon on the way tonight, that meagre 0.15% can once again beat Channel 4.. it'd be the second time since the beginning of Channel 5.. the first time was last year due to Secrets and Lies and the Daley/Hazel situation so here's hoping the strayed fanbase come back tonight and for the rest of the week!

If anyone's interested..

BBC Two is at 6.4%
ITV is at 14.2%
BBC One is at 21.2%

Ooh after the banter we were having on here last night about Titanic, it only JUST beat BB.
800k isn't bad at all against the World Cup final, and the plus one figure is even more respectable. Thank God that's over though.
So, tonight. I don't fancy it's chances against Utopia.

Utopia did quite poorly last year did it not? It went from 1.4m to 1.1m (I am sure that was officially too).

Utopia started with 'a little over 1m' last year according to Broadcast.

Is that the first time in the shows history it has gone below 1 million with plus 1?

You mean for a non Saturday show? Because around 80% of Saturdays have been under 1m since the start on CH5.

If you mean a non sat, it's still a no way. When it faced Euro 2012 it went sub 1m, it got 650k for Caroline's eviction and 450k for the last HL of BB13.

In fact, I think it held extremely well last night.

I thought it had always held above a million i had no idea it had gone as low as 450k

Though that was up against the Olympics closing ceremony, so it's impressive that that was nearly doubled for the World Cup final...

We'll see I guess. I didn't realise the ratings for It had gone down throughout the series. If it did beat it, that would be ace.

Wow - Just seen that 34.65m watched the world cup final in Germany - can you imagine BB going up against that? :joker:

I know :p I heard it was something like 88% share

To be fair, if England ever played in a WC final, I would expect around 28m and a share of around 85%.
