Me too, when she was first announced, I wasnt too excited, but I think now that Phil is in charge there will be a point to her character (Kim Crowther characters NEVER had a point)

There was a lot of history in Monday's episodes, and a lot of characters too (which was brilliant) also the Kirk and Chesney scenes were good

Underworld have got themselves some new windows xD

Coronation Street character Gary Windass is set to serve in Afghanistan as a bomb disposal expert.

Windass, played by Mikey North, went AWOL earlier this year after meeting a soldier who was injured at war, but will overcome his fears by disarming improvised explosive devices.

The new storyline comes after show bosses decided to move away from typical domestic dramas, according to the News of the World.

A source said: "We will not be holding back on the realities of our men and women going to war. We'll be showing how it really is, warts and all."

Writers at the ITV1 soap are said to have consulted the Ministry of Defence regarding the storyline, which will be shown on-screen in October.

I haven't like the character Chesney for such a long time. I know he's getting a story coming through, but for me it's too little too late.

I don't mind him too much, but he is too much of a goody two shoes xD

I thought he was great when Cilla was around. Now could that be because he was much younger, or that both Chesney & Cilla bounced off each other creating a great partnership.

Coronation Street producer Phil Collinson has signalled that he is axing a number of young stars, a source claims.

According to The People, Collinson believes that the serial is becoming too similar to Channel 4's Hollyoaks.

"Phil feels Corrie has become too much like a teen soap like Hollyoaks," an insider claimed.

Chesney Battersby-Brown (Sam Aston), Ryan Connor (Ben Thompson) and Gary Windass (Mikey North) may be written out of the show, the report says.

Well there is that whole focus on young people that Kim Crowther did, but I wouldnt say it was like "Hollyoaks" lol

I read this in the paper yesterday, I don't think they'd get rid of Ryan or Garry, but they could possibly do without Chesney

I think they could get rid of Ryan and Chez, they seem a bit useless really

Thinking about this deeper, it could be yet another fake story, to make us think "maybe they're killing off the younger ones"

I think it's a fake story, the Hollyoaks comparision gives it away. I could see Ryan getting axed as they rarely use him anyway which is a shame but I can't see Chesney going.
