£1340 with 2 days to go. Will end up around just over one and a half thousand imo.

All for a piece of wood! Wonder what he'll buy with the money? Toy action figures?

Nigeria_Bob 13-09-2009 02:33 PM

The last minute scrum should be interesting

Well its his money, but I have a feeling he will donate it to charity or a worthwhile cause. His latest tweets include this:

It ends today bbfans!! £1,500.00 with 3 and a half hours to go.

I suggest if you can for everyone to check the page around quarter past 2 onwards to see the final bidding wars. Will it reach 2 grand I wonder?

Did he get money off Sophie too then? Or did ask Mumsey for some cash?

ricky2k9 14-09-2009 01:30 PM

Only 6mins left, no bidding wars :O

ricky2k9 14-09-2009 01:37 PM

SOLD

£1,380.00

Im dissapointed, their was no last minute bidding war. I guess the novelty has worn off already plus most people are at work.

Oooo_get_her 14-09-2009 01:39 PM

Yeah - mid afternoon week day is a bad time to close an auction.

But then 1380 UK monies isn't bad for a snaffled piece of wood. I wonder if the buyer will pay up?

Nigeria_Bob 14-09-2009 01:39 PM

Winner has bare bid retractions… 35 over 6 months.

It's Marcus

One of the scams on Ebay is to over-inflate the price of something with multiple accounts and then retract the bids from some of your accounts so as to get a higher bid from other users.

Yeah great idea, coz then if he got caught he would lose the "irrepressibledarkhorse" account, which he has used for selling other stuff since 2003... derrrrrr!!!!!!!

Give the guy some credit for brains FFS - if you're going to shill bid, you get a friend or relative to do it or use a a second account with good feedback, not join the same day you bid! Clearly there were some a*seholes determined to sabotage his auction, which quite clearly states bidders with less than 10 positive feedback will have their bids cancelled.

Not everyone is a hustler like yourself (you admitted it after all).

[/rquote]I'm not saying he did all i was saying is you will not get your ebay account shut down if you shill bid like someone said marcus would if he did shill bid, i was saying he would get a warnning i did not say he was shill biding did I? IMHO there is nothing wrong with shill bidding the things i was selling i would not have sold for the price they would have fetched anyway so i helped the price along to what i would sell for then others out bid me, "All's Fair In Love, War And Business!"

I just hope the idiot who buys it loses the item, because Channel 4 demanded it back.

Then Marcus will be in trouble.

lets not wish that upon you http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...STRK:MESELX:IT

I know exactly what Shill Bidding is, the point I was trying to make is would Marcus risk losing the account name he has and its trading record? (He does hold the IDH title in high regard). You may have no qualms about having your account suspended, but he trades on the name.

You see although in your case and probably in most cases ebay may only issue a warning they do have the following options?

Quote:

Breaches of our policies may result in a range of actions, including:

Listing cancellation

Limits on account privileges

Account suspension

Forfeit of eBay fees on canceled listings

Loss of PowerSeller status

Referral to law enforcement
Bearing in mind it sold for over a grand, would ebay if they discovered he was shill bidding decide to make a high profile example of him?
