From DS Forums :

21:00 - Big Brother: 2.04m (8.8%)
* +1: 547,100 (3.1%)
* total = 2.59m

Not bad, i guess people thought it was on at 10pm

I think its just unfair in general in all shows not just Big Brother that they don't count every home in Britain tbh.

I don't quite understand why.

I think Barb Boxes are a stupid thing and I'm not suggesting they should be put in every home in the country I'm saying that we should all be counted as viewers because I am sure if we were Big Brother would get higher ratings and like you said it isn't just Big Brother so I don't mean that as if its the only show that is affected by barb boxes.

BARB is the system it works on. We can't all be counted as viewers because televisions do not emmit magic dust that travels back to HQ and lets everyone know what you are watching. You need a BARB box and BARB boxes cost too much and would bring in too much data to be installed in every home in Britain. Instead they are installed in a share.

It will go up while WC finishes and who can know, probably loads and loads of people are recording.
Its quite low but way ahead of BB10... who at this point dropped to 2.0m daily.

daniel-lewis-1985 17-06-2010 01:27 PM

Seems like people are constanty making excuses for the ratings but the fact is they are low and probably wont pick up. If people havt been watching the show from the start then chances are they are not going to get into it now. We need a big twist to shake things up or something really controversial to happen.

Yes we need something to happen but the 2.6m that they have had three times this series will turn into 3m in the officials. No need to worry.

I genuinley think that ratings will increase in a few weeks time, also if you notice the more fun filled episodes recieved the highest, ever since the arguments have began the ratings have dropped a little... so it looks like the public wasnt fun, not arguments. Eg. the conclusion to the mole task and JJ's cooking fails and the hawaiin party got 3m, and then when the bitching began we fell to 2.6m

It's up around 300k-400k on BB10's overnights, which is OK but not amazing. It's not goning to get any other network's attention with those ratings

Five would die for these ratings though. Guaranteed 2.5-3.5m nightly for a few months would be heaven for them, lest remember that their shows such as Studio 5 have flopped, which gets 200,000 viewers, and whatever follows that barely gets 1m.

daniel-lewis-1985 17-06-2010 02:15 PM

I agree! I wanted a fun show this year and Josie,Efi ad Mario have had some hilarious moments which have been overlooked in the hl show in favour of Govan and Shabby bitchng.

Get the hint BB

It's not just about ratings though, the show is extremely expensive,. Five's US imports of CSI are getting 2.2m or so and they're far cheaper than Big Brother, which gets just a few 100k viewers or so more. Plus of course if it moves ratings will go down, espically if Davina goes. I'd say it needs to be getting at least 3.5m+ for another network to be interested.

Sorry your worng (not to sound harsh)... but Five is in talks with Endemol right now to get BB.

BB might not return for a whiel, but I think that CBB is pretty much quite likely to be picked up by another channel.

President 17-06-2010 07:34 PM

TMX, a new broadcaster doesnt have to pay £60m a year like what Channel 4 are doing at the moment! They paid so much money, even though in the past they've paid as little as £10m a year.

A new broadcaster could get the show cheap... i hope so anyway :D

*mazedsalv** 18-06-2010 09:54 AM

Last night got 2.8m. Fourth consecutibe night to be up on the previous.

Wrong. Big Brother is dirt cheap to produce compared to most dramas that millions are spent on to write, cast and shoot for half the ratings once a week.

Build a house, throw people in it, and get a team to watch and take care of them. It's one of the cheapest shows on telly. Even animated shows like South Park and Family Guy cost more to produce.

Tiffany 18-06-2010 03:26 PM

good ratings for last night :) good ratings all week really, especially when the officials some in :D

Smithy 18-06-2010 03:41 PM

Yay at them going up last night but :( At what tonights will be after the match

Tiffany 18-06-2010 06:41 PM

ratings prediction for tonights eviction....3.3 million official

snukey123 18-06-2010 07:43 PM

Hmmmm hard to call will the eviction shows always be in one long show or was it just because of the england match? i think as it airs after the match alot of people will still be watching tv which could benefit bb as its on straight after the game. unofficially averaging 3.0m officially 3.4m
