I was so excited for Season Three of Skins and that let me down terribley so although I'll watch S5; because there's nothing else on, I'm not expecting much from it.

I remember watching S1E1 when it first aired on E4 and loved S1+2 but in the last two seasons, the characters were so two dimensional and I didn't really emphasise with any of them. Whereas I liked all the original cast.

I think I liked Pandora most and I was lucky enough to meet her at (would you believe it) the top of the empire state building on a trip to America. She was absolutely lovely and let us all get a picture with her. :)

Series 5 to have Most Graphic Sex Scene

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_BitBhFJrHr...c930d2927d.jpg

"WE can't wait for Skins series 5 to start on the telly box, and we're even more excited after hearing that they plan on out-raunching themselves.
According to Laya Lewis, who plays party animal Liv in the fifth series of Skins, says this season will feature the "most graphic sex scene" ever - which is terrifying, considering how graphic previous seasons have been.

She said: "Put it this way, I will be leaving the room when this scene comes on if I'm with my parents. The producers have already told me it's the most full-on sex scene Skins has ever had. I'm a bit worried to be honest."

Poor Laya was forced to simulate an orgasm during her second day on set - jeepers!

She added: "I had to do lots of nude scenes because my character is a bit of a s**g basically. But you're really well looked after and obviously you don't see any bum or boobs or anything. It's nerve-wracking at first but when you get used to it and embrace it it's actually quite fun.

"I had to get naked on my second day! I didn't even know I was doing it, I thought it was just going to be a bit of rumpy-pumpy, not a full-on sex scene. The next thing I'm hearing from the director is, 'In 15 seconds, Laya, we'd like you to climax'. I was like, 'Sorry, what?'"

Sounds thrilling! We're already making the popcorn.

The fifth series of Skins starts on E4 on January 27 (next Thursday - woo!)."

Liv (Laya Lewis) “Liv is the promiscuous one,” laughs Laya, 18. “One of her adventures results in possibly the most sexy scenes we have ever seen in Skins.”

Rich (Alexander Arnold) “Rich never holds back on what he wants to say,” reveals Alexander, 18. “That’s especially in regard to the things and people he loves.”

Matty (Sebastian De Souza) “Matty’s just one of those characters that could go either way,” says Sebastian, 17. “By the end, he could be Charles Manson or Jesus – who knows?”

Alo (Will Merrick) “He’s desperate to start his sexual endeavours,” laughs Will, 17. “He wants to get into the swing of teenage life.”

Grace (Jessica Sula) “Grace is quite unique,” says Jessica, 16. “She likes her Audrey Hepburn style and believes everything is a fairy tale.”

Nick – (Sean Teale) “Behind Nick’s front, he’s self-conscious and vulnerable,” says Sean, 18. “He has good intentions that he doesn’t always express very well.”

Franky (Dakota Blue Richards) “She’s unconditionally kind, even when people are mean to her,” explains Dakota, 16.

Mini (Freya Mavor) “Mini is feisty and stirs things up,” smiles Freya, 17. “She says things I wouldn’t dare say in real life. It’s a challenge to play someone so ballsy.”

Episode 1- 'Franky' Review-

[[[[[CONTAINS MAJOR SPOILERS]]]]]

Spoiler:

"The brand new series of Skins will be hitting our screens with a bang – literally! One involving its new star Franky (Dakota Blue Richards) on an out of control mobile scooter crashing into a bike shed on her first day at a new school.

Franky is your typical ‘class reject’, dressing against the grain with boyish clothes, short hair, and no makeup, she is noticeably socially awkward. Bullied at her old school, she has moved with her two gay foster dads to Bristol to try and build a new life there and escape her past.

But her past soon catches up with her when her new ‘mean girls’ type friends discover the website ‘Franky ain’t got a fanny’. Before she knows it there are pictures from the website of her being humiliated about her body plastered all over the school. To say you feel a little empathy for her would be an understatement.

There are some really funny moments that a drama as gritty as skins needs. Particular highlights were Franky’s gay dads who strike a healthy balance between cringe and cool, being very parentally protective on the one hand but happy to say ‘dick splash’ on the other.

Also, the English teacher was satisfyingly eccentric. He demonstrates what could be described as a controversial teaching style, opening up his shirt to reveal a tattoo of Charlotte Bronte’s face on his chest and exclaiming: "This is the original punk, Charlotte ******ing Bronte!"

Certainly high praise is necessary for Dakota Blue Richards (most known for playing Lyra in The Golden Compass), who captivates Franky’s mysterious androgyny exceptionally well on screen. The opening episode does a great job of introducing the new characters and setting up the new direction of the series.

For you hard-core Skins fans out there sorry, no sex in this one! But you still get to witness two types of drugs being taken, shop-lifting, shooting with a BB gun and a semi-naked swimming pool scene.

Overall it seems to have gained back the appeal of containing likeable characters, which series four and five only mildly delivered. Also, that element of ‘too cool for school ‘ of the previous cast has been, thankfully, shaken off. This new generation seems to have struck a balance between the playfulness of the original cast (remembering Sid and Chris) and the darker side of the second (like Cook and Effy).

If you want to watch an endearing bunch of teenage misfits going through the trials and tribulations of how to cope in the adult world with drugs, sexual identity, relationships and with a bit of humour thrown in then Skins will appeal. If you were mad about series three and four then series five seems to be taking a less hard-edged route so far. However, if you’re a fan of the early skins, as I am, you won’t be disappointed.

Episode one of the new series begins Thursday 27th January, 10pm on E4."

I've changed my mind on Skins US, the second episode was MUCH better and Tea> Maxxie. I'd say it's on par with Series 4 of our Skins, Terrible by the UK standards but not bad compared to how crap I thought it was going to be.

I agree. It was much better than the first episode. Tea is a good character and the actress is nice aswell. Hopefully they didn't copy everything from the UK version. I like it to be honest.

List of episodes:
Episode 3 - Chris Collins.
Episode 4 - Caddie Campbell.
Episode 5- Stanley Lucerne.
Episode 6 - Abbud Siddiqui.
Episode 7 - Michelle Richardson.
Episode 8 - Daisy Valero.
Episode 9 - Eura Snyder.
Episode 10 - Finale.

Chris is next? Oh. I'm not keen on the US version of him yet. I only really like Tea & Michelle at the moment. I don't like Tony in the US version, he's very weak in comparision to Nicholas Hoult's Tony. Same with 'Stanley' and 'Caddie's' too much of a punchline to match Cassie well.

Novo 25-01-2011 05:44 PM

This is going to get really bad ratings, haven't even seen it advertised on TV.. it be lucky to get 500,000

Ramsay 25-01-2011 05:45 PM

USA are going crazy over it appearantly loads of parent groups are ****ting themselves
my god if only they saw the original UK version..the USA one is very tame compared:joker:
to be honest i dont mind the USA one i thought it would be **** but its ok..nice to know they are only mirroring the UK version at first and after a while it will be completely different

That'd still be very decent ratings for E4. If I remember correctly the first series of Misfits only averaged 300,000 and that was considered a huge success. I reckon it'll get around 600-800k.

Novo 25-01-2011 06:28 PM

The first episode last year got 640,000 can't see it getting anywhere close to that

I reckon it'll match it, a lot of people will watch the first episode just to see what the new cast are like.

We can already tell Chris' episode will be directly inspired from the UK version: his mum, the party, the pills etc....

Stanley is just LOL and lame compared to Sid, they really screwed up on this one. I like Caddie so far, she seems to have another story compared to Cassie, she's crazy but in another way. And Tony isn't great too.

Michelle, Daisy and Tea are probably the best, story wise and character wise. And the American Michelle is much hotter than the British one :joker: So is Daisy.

Jordan. 25-01-2011 10:05 PM

It is advertised loads on E4 and occasionally on C4.

Like Shameless it seems to grow and get more followers every year so I can't see it doing bad tbh.

Or it's a dare?
