How is Jay saying it's a shame people haven't stayed in touch him pouting or whatever you're suggesting? :conf:

I actually stuck up for Jay about using a different razor to shave his arse with , and then Aaron's hair with.... I was sure (and still am) that they were different ones.
See.....I'm not quite as unreasonable as I'm portrayed...close, but not quite ... tee hee. ;)

and I put up my opinion. How very dare I.

I'll criticise Jay on whatever I wish to.

Sham is not the same as shame.

I'm not suggesting anything - if Jay uses the word 'sham' I'll take it that when Jay says 'sham', that he means 'sham'..... unless people here are reading Jay's mind.

Sorry....what on earth has this to do with this thread? Oh... I see. Nothing. Nothing at all - other than very petty point scoring? So the agenda is that, rather than discussing the thread.

I rest my case. ;)

I'm pretty sure he meant shame, it's the way he talks and would fit into that sentence better.

Well let's look at the facts of what he ACTUALLY wrote ...rather than what you both 'think' he meant.

The man said SHAM. Not shame.

He also uses "a" instead of "I"............it's quite obvious what he meant.

Well stop taking it literally, you can see his tweets are littered with spelling mistakes and grammatical errors, common sense tells us it is far more logical he meant "shame" considering the context it was said in

I will take what I read, in whichever manner I wish to MTVN, without being told by you, how I should and should not read something that is not actually written....literally or otherwise.

The fact of the matter is: Jay used the word sham. Not shame.

Just because it doesn't fit in with how you wish to construe his tweet, does not mean that I have to accept that he made an error. I don't believe he did. I believe that he did in fact mean 'Sham really'.... meaning that the whole idea of them all (Alex if you prefer) sharing the money has turned into a sham really.

That fits quite perfectly also, dependant on viewpoint.

That's very much my take on it - and I am perfectly entitled to put that over without being told that I should not have my own opinon, and being told to 'Well, stop taking it literally'.

I shall take it, as I find it. The man said SHAM. That is indeed factual, it's there for all to read.

Ok fine, you stick to your religious devotion to "facts" and I'll stick to what I consider to be basic logic and common sense :)

Are you inferring here MTVN that my own view is not also based on logic and common sense - and rather than you simply disagreeing with my view: you are completely disrespecting it?. If you could clarify please.

Anyone know the address of ACAS?

I think that, in my mind, to hold a dogmatic adherence to "the facts" would be a bit foolish in this instance considering that, what I consider to be logic and common sense would lead most to believe it much more likely that it was a simple misspelling, as is a frequent occurrence in Jay's tweets

I didn't ask what you considered in your mind.

I asked quite specifically if you are inferring that my own very reasoned posts, based on factual content in respect of Jay's actual tweet - cannot be regarded as being based on logic and common sense. Whether I am being rigid in using the basis of Jay's actual wording or not.

I don't think I'm being unreasonable in asking you to very clearly, very specifically answer what I asked.

Look, as far as I can see the only reason to think that he meant "sham" was that there is no "e" on the end of the way he spelt it, whereas there are plenty of reasons to think that he did indeed mean "shame", so the latter is a more logical conclusion to reach

Take from that what you will.

Nope, it's an indication that I agree with MTVNs view, is that alright with you?

Still not answering specifically what I asked you. I'll take from that what I will... indeed.

Absolutely, why would it not be alright with me Niamh? That's what makes the forum exist. Just comes across very much that anyone who doesn't happen to agree with both of your own opinions - that those opposing ones are incorrect and to be disregarded.

Perhaps you could explain why my own view, ie: that Jay meant to use the word 'sham' - cannot be equally regarded as plausible, as it's clear both you and MTVN feel that's simply not an option to be accepted (regardless of whether you are not in agreement).

Even if he did mean 'sham', I would completely understand why he'd say that. Afterall, Alex said on national telly that she'd split the £30k and she didn't. Bit of a sham that isn't it?! :)

You got all that from a smiley? :joker:

Because I fail to see how not staying in touch is a "sham" that doesn't even make sense. Shame does. Simples.
