Matt talks Doctor Who future

Quote:

As publicity ramps up on The Snowmen, Matt Smith has been quizzed about his future on Doctor Who once again.

Here’s Smith’s latest response on the matter from an interview with Bangshowbiz: “We’ve got Doctor Who’s 50th anniversary coming up in November 2013, and one assumes there’ll be another Christmas special after that, and I’d hope to be part of it. I take each year as it comes. All good things come to an end, but my mum is aghast at the thought of me ever not being the Doctor. The show is the star and will continue without me.

”I’m committed to it next year and will sit down with Steven Moffat and see where we go from there. I’ve no immediate plans to leave. I’m around for a whole year and that’s a long time.”

He adds: “Maybe someone could play the Doctor for seven years like Tom Baker, but… it’s 10 months a year.”

Ian McKellen Voicing The Snowmen

Quote:

According to the Radio Times, McKellen is providing the voice of the titular Snowmen in this year’s Christmas special.

McKellen needs little introduction with many big movie blockbusters to his name including The Lord of the Rings, the X-men series and, most recently, The Hobbit (alongside a certain Sylvester McCoy).

Even though it’s just a voice role, this is a quite a coup for Doctor Who.

Ugh fine, just ask a mod to close it or whatever then.

Glenn. 10-12-2012 07:57 PM

:hmph:

Marcus. 10-12-2012 07:57 PM

could you not find a middle ground

Jarrod 10-12-2012 07:59 PM

I just thought it was a fresh thread, for the new year. I've even put up a handy Episode Guide and everything.

Glenn. 10-12-2012 08:02 PM

But there was already a thread on Doctor Who. And like I've already said, it isn't a new series. Its the same series.

Having 2 threads on the same topic is ridiculous.

Jarrod 10-12-2012 08:03 PM

Yes, and i said request the other one to be closed then.

Marcus. 10-12-2012 08:05 PM

how about putting the two together

Glenn. 10-12-2012 08:09 PM

Just let it get buried. :idc:

So, with the new series having a new companion and TARDIS interior....they've gotta have new titles right?

I hope they took inspiration from these

I wonder how they're going to explain the TARDIS Change...

Scarlett. 11-12-2012 08:52 PM

In this shot, the TARDIS looks worn out, so I'm guessing the Doctor has just left the TARDIS behind for a long, long time. When he gets back in action, the TARDIS probably repairs itself.

New titles confirmed, and they apparently have a lot more nods to the old Doctor Who titles

The guy who made those has made these too (make sure to watch in HD as some detail is lost in compression)

New TARDIS revealed!

Spoilered in case people don't want it ruined til next week.

I don't know what to make of it.

Daniel R 19-12-2012 01:19 AM

Well that's... different

I think I like it though. It's not as cluttered as the old one

Scarlett. 19-12-2012 01:21 AM

I like it :D

Glenn. 19-12-2012 01:26 AM

I like the classic feel it has

Scarlett. 19-12-2012 01:33 AM

It's very 1st Doctor

I also like that it's super simple, like Ecclestons.

Scarlett. 19-12-2012 02:19 AM

Just found this brilliant video :D

Maia 19-12-2012 02:31 AM

Hm it's quite nice, looks a bit more cramped though I'm used to how spacious the old one was

Glenn. 19-12-2012 03:45 AM

I think its like the Pond Era one that's up on a platform. You can see railings going down into the depths of the console room.
