If you look towards Buckingham Palace, you may see a portrait of the Queen being thrown out the window about now... #RolfHarris

reece(: 30-06-2014 02:44 PM

will he be imprisoned?:o

Jack_ 30-06-2014 02:46 PM

^ judge says for him to 'expect a custodial sentence' so yeah, he's being sentenced on Friday

Also I read that the maximum sentence for each count is two years, the judge can either have them run concurrently or consecutively

It's probably best you dont write statements like that until the court case has finished (Whatever the outcome is), there's a reason why newspapers always use words like "alleged"

The case was still ongoing at the time, him being found guilty doesn't retroactively make it legal to discuss on-going trials with terms that indicate an outcome. Read more here http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-20782257

Given his age and the magnitude of the crimes I expect he will get 18 Months inside and could be out in 9 months or earlier if tagged etc..

Really disappointed with this, he looked like butter wouldn't melt and now he is just another disgraced ex-celebrity, sad dirty old man who should have known better.

His whole career and reputation down the toilet... Well done Rolf you did yourself proud.

I wonder if he will make it to sentencing?

What you think he may
end his life in the bog room?

smudgie 30-06-2014 05:28 PM

Not that surprised if I am honest.
He over egged the pudding, shuffling into court having to be supported either side when in fact he is quite capable of walking normal.

Throw the ruddy key away, and keep this jury for any future cases.

Anaesthesia 30-06-2014 05:32 PM

Genuinely shocked and stunned.

The most distasteful thing I find about these recent (yet historic) cases is that a person can be judged for alleged historic crimes by the paramaters of modern society.

There's a whole different morality out there now. Not to say right or wrong...just the goalposts have moved.

I wouldn't throw it away... They'll need it in 6 months. If they throw it away his corpse will start to smell :(

To be fair it's not like he had the career and then ruined it... He was doing this decades ago. From the timeline it actually sounds like it stopped when his career took off... He must have been dreading this coming out for years.

These charges apparently are only the tip of the iceberg, the CPS are considering bringing another 20 or more charges relating to under age sexual assault and victims in Australia and Malta are now coming forward.

My god this is Jimmy Savile mark 2.

Amy Jade 30-06-2014 10:52 PM

I still can't even imagine him doing any of this.

joeysteele 30-06-2014 10:59 PM

I am still stunned at this and Rolf Harris.

When the Jimmy Saville scandal went into overdrive,if I had been asked which celebrities I thought may also be involved in such crimes, Rolf Harris would have been one of those, or even the one, at the very bottom of my list.

Ithinkiloveyoutoo 30-06-2014 11:07 PM

Every presenter of the past was a paedo it seems. Something deep down told me that Bruce Forsyth "retired" due to an investigation but he somehow got them to keep it hush hush.

Nothing at all would surprise me now as to this.

Verbal 30-06-2014 11:18 PM

You need to be concerned about the ties all of these celebs have/have had with the Royal family.

Jimmy Saville
Stuart Hall and now Rolf Harris have all been well in with the Royals at some point. A huge cover up imo.

Jack_ 30-06-2014 11:18 PM

Bruce would be the worst, you couldn't top that if something about him ever surfaced

Mitchell 01-07-2014 02:10 AM

Someone related to me used to work with Bruce on a regular basis, they said that he was always a gentleman, always brought in Christmas presents for everyone, they also said that Bruce had an argument with one of the yewtree arrests around the time the alleged incident occurred, so after that I don't think Bruce is involved, you never know though
