Which is why Gaga won't be, as her popularity and success is a downwards exponential cuve

Brother Leon 07-10-2013 12:27 PM

Rihanna will be remembered for being beat up by Chris Brown more than anything else.

I don't know where you copied and pasted that from, but it's wrong

I agree to a degree, it's probably the only reason she's as big as she is now, she certainly had the GP sympathy for a couple of years afterwards

I actually cannot see popstar having longevity and success like Madonna in these current times. We just churn through new pop sensation after pop sensation and never give any time to acts that have been around longer than 3 years.

Look at Dido, she was the biggest selling female artist and then all of a sudden just vanished off the face of the Earth. Yes her 3rd album wasn't a success, but it wasn't actually that bad an album, the radio just stopped caring for her.

John Lennon was absolutely a dick. That's why we've all logically moved on to hero worshipping George Harrison.

This threads quickly become "flaunt how zany and reverse cultured you are by how much you love chart pop".

I have more respect for the dirt on my shoes than I do Kurt Cobain.

Trent Reznor's probably been the singular most impressive figure in music for about twenty years. In addition to his continuous exceptional output he brings to the table a sense of mild mannered, no B.S. clarity about the music industry and is nothing short of an inspiration.

Opera is amazing.
Mowtown/disco ruled ok
Glam rock is ace.
the only punk band anyone remembers is the worst (sex pistols.)
Electronic/new romantic 80's was cool
Stock, aitken and waterman deserve to be jailed.
Early RnB> any mobo awarded crud
Acid house and jungle ...no
late 90's 00's dance/trance <3
boy bands :/

Nope, she's remembered for pushing the boundaries for women, not being remembered soley for your music isn't a bad thing boo http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...8/f58a8b71.gif

Lady gaga will be remembered for trying to be madonna :idc:

Stu 07-10-2013 01:27 PM

Lady GaGa will be remembered in a semi fond, tongue in cheek manner. She'll be pondered over in Channel 4 clip shows in fifteen years time as being a turn of the century fruit loop. Jimmy Carr might host it.

Her legacy will be making herself so difficult to like, but in an artistically nullifying way. The videos for Roar and Applause are perfect illustrations of this. One is a fun, upbeat, cutesy pop track that you can watch and enjoy the other is caught up in trying to immerse you in how outlandish it is. It won't let you rest and demands you constantly pay attention to the fact that you're in the presence of a bona fide nutter.

The only people who are seen as having the 'X factor' are narcissistic egomaniacs.

Anyway, my controversial opinion is probably that I don't care for any of Frank Ocean's music. He bores me.

Was. What she releases now is cack imo, she'll always achieve good album debut sales but that's pretty much it.

Chuck 07-10-2013 04:04 PM

Body Language by Heidi Montag is a gret song.

Very likely. Considering he is still mostly known for that.

Far more likely than Rihanna will be remembered for the situation, consdering shes a bigger star, has had more hits, more of a socialite and far more people follow her & read about her.

She will still only be remembered for it. Saying Chris Brown will is hardly
Controversial..most would say that.
