Some people believe that because it's always been this way that it's ok, it really isn't.

Sleep is every humans basic right, we all need a certain amount of sleep to function.

Jim gets slated for wanting sleep at night but when he "messes around" in the morning in order to get his own back he's called nasty. :conf:

Kizzy 19-01-2014 01:40 AM

Well that just shows what a control freak he is, why can't he have a lie in if he gets so tired?

He doesn't need sleep any more than anyone else in that house though, so why is he any different?

I don't think many people would disagree but you would really rather them just go 'okay sorry Jim, we'll let you sleep' instead of continuing to act like inconsiderate arseholes and piss him off so they start a tit-for-tat battle which'll inevitably end up in a hilarious argument, I mean really? Why would you want them to stop what they are doing? :conf:

Honestly? Well, I take your word for that of course. But they must have been pretty low key or not very interesting then because I can't recall any.

I don't think you understood my point, because if they said 'okay Jim we'll got to another room', then that wouldn't piss him off...and my point was that why would you want them to stop doing stuff that's going to piss one another off? That's exactly what we want. Sure, I wouldn't want to live amongst it but I'm not, just watching it

Jase. 19-01-2014 01:47 AM

Luisa calling him the grim reaper was ****ing priceless :joker:

lostalex 19-01-2014 01:47 AM

Can't we all just agree that jim is an asshole?

I don't see why anyone would like him, what is likable about him?

Yes, I burst out laughing the other night when he said 'get some sleep, woman' to Linda. Oh the irony! :joker:

Well I guess if you don't like Jim (or the HM that was being kept awake) then you would have that opinion...but to be fair to me, I've defended HM's in the past that I seriously disliked for just this same reason.

We all want arguments but not at the expense of someones basic human rights.

Not at all, I've had favourites in the past I'm sure that were kept awake and if I did now I would hold the same opinions - I want all housemates to act like twats and piss each other off, that makes the best TV. No way in hell do I want them to be considerate, that gives us nothing to talk about whatsoever

That's a little bit exaggerative, it's a few weeks in a house, I'm sure he can catch up when he gets out (like I said I agree they're being out of order but I want them to continue and I don't see why anyone else apart from Jim himself would disagree - I want him to go batsh*t at them at some point )

Also I actually like Jim so it's not cause I don't like him

But you are actually supporting my point, because you said none of the men that molested you have been convicted in a court, therefore, sexual assault victimizers are walking free but they are considered "innocent".

I am not supporting your point. I stated that it is not fair to speculate about what might or might not have happened in a case when sexual assault charges have been dropped. There are grey areas and many, many men can cross over an invisible line inadvertently, or because they are chancing their arm.

Obviously, however, I have been subjected to some clear-cut instances of abuse, and I do appreciate your sympathy.

Fair enough, I take your point....disagree tho. :joker:

I fear if Jim goes ape at them he'll lose his chance of winning because people think his anger is more wrong and undeserving than any of the others anger towards him lol.

Ha! He used Lionel as the only person in the house who was near his own age (62 going on 90).
As Jim said when Lionel was evicted 'he was alright in small doses' so even an 82 year old man was too much for Jim to handle. I can understand his take on that, as Lionel was full of life and enthusiasm and never once complained about the young ones having fun - he joined in!

Kizzy 19-01-2014 01:56 AM

Jim is so close to going batsh*t crazy, a few have said it now lionel thinks he has an issuebwith being told what to do so this environment can't be too healthy

Videostar 19-01-2014 01:58 AM

Luisa doesn't like being told what to do either...I've noticed. ;)

I don't think the line is as blurry as you are making it out to be., I think the vast majority of men know exactly where that line is, and hence the vast majority of men have not sexually abused anyone. I don't think you are right about how hazy the lines are. The lines are clear to most decent men.

I think men that molest women know exactly what they are doing, and they also rely on people like you to excuse them. Th3y know they can get away with it, because they know that most women will be too confused/ashamed to report it.

I don't think it's fair for you to assume that most men don't know what sexual abuse is.

It's actually offensive that you think men are that stupid.

The men who abused you knew exactly what they were doing, and they got away with it because you didn't report them.

I don't know if it's just men, to be fair. A woman friend got into my bed when I was sick once, then grabbed my hand and put it on her breast, even though she knew very well I am straight. She'd been drinking and I think she thought that everyone has the potential to be "bi", so she had a shot. She's a university lecturer in social work. Do I want to ruin her career because of that? Nope. Do I feel like a victim? Nope. Do I feel I surrendered? Nope. Do I feel ashamed? Nope. Did she feel embarrassed afterwards. Yes. Did it spoil our friendship? Yes, but only because she felt rejected.
