The BBC is co - funding with Amazon TV
Ripper Street series that they axed
it will be on Amazon TV online
then go to BBC1 a year later

So you can see
so much is changing,
drama series on BBC1 and 2
need BBC3 TV axed to get the money transfer

Are we still getting BBC1 + 1? if not when we might as well wave goodbye to eastenders by the end of next year

[Director general Tony Hall says plan (Axe BBC3 from TV Ch) will save more than £50m,
making space for BBC1+1,
with BBC1 drama division to get £30m]

I'd rather have bbc 3 than bbc 1+1.
At least it's a long way away so they could stop bbc 3 from closing.

Change.org petition to #SaveBBC3 exceeds 70,000 signatures.

EastEnders is safe for the next 10-20 years, since they're building a whole new set for it :joker:

I don't mind that they're axing BBC Three, while there has been quite a few gems on the channel, most of the programming ends up being reruns of Two Pints, Family Guy or Doctor Who. Weird thing is though... BBC Four will be the new BBC Three

WTF? Family Guy gets nearly a million viewers some nights and the channel surely does just as well as ITV2?

Luckily I have all Family Guy on box sets but its just not the same as watching it on tv for some reason, its like when Friends was pulled from E4 lol.

BBC3 was more than just USA imports

daniel-lewis-1985 06-03-2014 02:29 PM

Come to think of it why don't they just axe BBC4 does anyone watch that? BBC3 has been a platform for some massive shows which eventually became prime time hits on BBC1.

joe199998293 06-03-2014 02:42 PM

Solution. Axe BBC4, move all the BBC4 shows to BBC3 during the day since the channel is offline half the day... and replace BBC4 with BBC1+1.

No those channels on TV have to start at 7PM
that daytime signal is used by other channels

BBC3 moving online can be 24/7
of course

Kizzy 06-03-2014 02:47 PM

So, will BBC4 become BBC3.... or will it go 1,2,4?

Black Dagger 06-03-2014 02:48 PM

BBC4

bbfan1991 06-03-2014 02:48 PM

Gutted:(. There are so many good programmes on BBC 3 too.

I would rather BBC 2 or 4 went, don't watch much programmes on them.

zakman440 06-03-2014 03:16 PM

:bawling: gutted. Let's just hope that the BBC Trust have our interests in their final conclustion, and decide to keep it on air.

BBC Four might not be a big hit with the younger audience, but a lot of the older audience generally like it. Apart from Being Human, Torchwood and Little Britain, I can't really think of much else that BBC Three has been home to. Lets not forget, its also the channel that spawned Grown Ups and Lee Nelson's Well Good Show. The BBC will probably still make room for new shows somewhere on the network.

Saph 06-03-2014 04:01 PM

I only watch bbc3 for family guy/american dad as background noise so I guess i'll learn to cope http://i.imgur.com/lb78kxF.png

But there is not the money for BBC3 now
even if more sign up saying save it,
the Money BBC3 TV used to have is going to BBC1 and 2 Drama
or they get worse

Are you going to stop future contracts?

BBC3 lives on Online Only
so its not like a Six feet under deal
its move with the modern times,

Many who will have Smart TV's
will have BBC iplayer and other ch's online
connected to their Smart TV's

You are aware BBC3 moves to iplayer online
so its not lost forever
