Yeah. But we dont know if it is just one man. Could be two, or even a gang. Even if there is DNA found on the clothes, there could still be more people involved undiscovered yet. But hopefully if there is DNA, the person it belongs too will reveal all

Tanser_Man 13-12-2006 07:56 PM

Well thats the thing at the moment, if's.. but's and maybe's.... be good to see how it all pans out in the next few days though.

Lil-Lindz 13-12-2006 07:57 PM

- One of the bodies found yesterday has been taken away.
- Confirmation of the bodies is expected tomorrow.
- Womens clothing has been found in a river.

Yeah.
But also, earlier they interviewed a man who works with people like prostitutes and he said he hadn't seen two people for over a week now. Could these be new victims? Although nothing else about these missing girls has been released so Im guessing it could be nothing.

Lil-Lindz 13-12-2006 08:05 PM

Ok cool, hopefully they can find something out from the clothing
I hope the man gets found soon

MarkWaldorf 13-12-2006 08:06 PM

Yeah, but again. They called water the 'destroyer of evidence' which means it could have destroyed any traces of DNA off the clothing. Hopefully not though.

MarkWaldorf 13-12-2006 08:07 PM

There was a leather jacket in the river, Im guessing this makes it more obvious that it's theirs. Also they found a handbag.

cc100 13-12-2006 08:08 PM

The press are loving this awful situation. They are salivating at the prospect of more suffering.

Sophii3x 13-12-2006 08:08 PM

I heared on the news yesterday that police are looking through the sex offenders list

lily. 13-12-2006 08:09 PM

Just heard on the news that they found a handbag with a toothbrush, toothpaste and a pair of knickers in it. That sounds like something a working girl would have.

Lil-Lindz 13-12-2006 08:09 PM

Might be a good idea as it seems the man is targeting prostitutes
Hopefully someone will phone in with some information

I think the press are just doing their job, trying to get the message across but i know what you mean

What does salivating mean?

lily. 13-12-2006 08:14 PM

Salivating means drooling... and, in this case, means that they are getting all excited about having a big story and forgetting about the hurt and suffering involved.

Thats what the British public want though. It's human instinct to want all the gritty details, and they're providing us with it. Of course they're salivating, they're getting viewers - it's their job.
Of course the families will be suffering, I'm not denying that - but the press shouldn't be walking on eggshells for it.

lily. 13-12-2006 08:22 PM

I agree Lauren. I was explaining the term to Sophii. She asked what it meant.

Diablo 13-12-2006 08:23 PM

a reporter admitted she was so excited at being near where the latest 2 bodies were found and it was only later when she had time to think about the seriousness of it all and the families she got emotional

Lauren 13-12-2006 08:23 PM

Ahh right sorry, I thought you were arguing that point.

Diablo 13-12-2006 08:26 PM

Nah. I believe in freedom of the press. And, I also believe that they should report the story as it is, without bias or emotion.

I wouldn't like to be a newsreader because I would find it difficult to detach myself from certain stories (eg. where children are involved), but it's the only way to report news, even if it does seem rather cold-hearted. I don't tune into the news to find out how the newsreader feels... I tune in to find out the facts.

And, if I was related to any of the victims, I doubt I would be watching any news on TV, or reading any newspapers to be honest anyway.

Lauren 13-12-2006 08:29 PM

Exactly, we shouldn't have a half-news story. They should give us the full facts so we can make our own minds up about things.

I wanna be a forensic psychologist when I'm older so cases like this intrigue me, and so I want all the details  (That sounds sick, but yeah)

Must be hard...

On one hand, she's a reporter, and this is a brilliant thing career-wise. On the other hand, she's a woman, and this is an awful situation.

It's a double-edged sword.

Diablo 13-12-2006 08:31 PM

sometimes wish i'd done that Lauren.. crimes like this really interest me, I wish i'd have become an investigator or forensic

It's not sick. You're not saying that you are enjoying the fact that these women are dead. You are saying that you are interested because you would like to be able to solve these cases. If there weren't any forensic people, most of these cases would remain unsolved. So, morbid fascination isn't always a bad thing.
