I don't think it has, unless the people who are willing to defend that number mention Celebrity Hijack?

Thing is given how childish and trashy this theme is are we surprised figures are lower than usual? Everyone I've spoken to that watched the launch thought it was tacky, crap and a really unnecessary theme. Can't blame people switching off when this show is becoming more like a year 9 media project by the day. Channel 5 really need to learn that this approach does not keep people engaged, this show really needs to be simplified, firstly by getting rid of these cheesy themes.

armand.kay 30-08-2015 12:53 AM

People on my Twitter feed didn't even know it was on lol

armand.kay 30-08-2015 12:54 AM

They thought it wasn't on today and I had to inform them.

Is anyone actually expecting above 1 million tonight

Rob! 30-08-2015 12:57 AM

Nope. Shame cause it was a really good episode.

Brilliant episode.

Jason. 30-08-2015 01:06 AM

They should've aired the highlights at 9.30 after X Factor and put the CBB Best Bits at 10.30 instead.

mrmattybeck1 30-08-2015 10:57 AM

A disaster of just 910k last night

They couldn't, that's when the Football League Show was on.

I'm surprised it was that high.

Will. 30-08-2015 12:58 PM

Not good, last years first Saturday got 1.2M with +1, so it's probs about 150k down on last years.

Hopefully tonight will do well!

I'm really enjoying it so far.

They need to get rid of the Summer CBB and cut the normal series to just the summer holidays, Then stop medding with silly twists and have full live feed. If that doesn't work get rid of Big Brother all together.

daniel-lewis-1985 30-08-2015 01:50 PM

Literally what BB16 was getting that is unacceptable for CBB.

Terrible and a shame seeing as it was such a brilliant episode.

LukeB 30-08-2015 01:52 PM

what was the ratings?

RichardG 30-08-2015 01:54 PM

If it carries on in the pattern it's going and does even worse next year surely there's no chance the contract will get renewed? These figures are appealing for CBB, summer season or not. With all the money they pay to get the celebs i'll bet they expect more in return than 910k...

Pretty much this.

By the look of things, BB14 is currently rating higher than this series. I mean you know there's something wrong when a civilian series two years ago is getting more ratings than a celebrity version which usually rates considerably higher than BB regardless.

Will. 30-08-2015 02:25 PM

What are we thinking for tonight?

It seems this series is 150/200k down on last year.

So last years first Sunday got 1.9.

So I'm guessing 1.7

Rob! 30-08-2015 02:28 PM

Urgh God.

Well - 10:30pm is the latest BB has ever gone out. It's also a bank holiday weekend. It's on at 10:30 every Saturday so as people get used to that, Saturdays may go up.
I'm not defending it, that's with +1 after all and it's the lowest CBB rating ever. Let's not panic TOO much yet though.

mrmattybeck1 30-08-2015 02:58 PM

They should just carry on with cbb January and rest the summer versions for a while

It's weird because January cbb does so well

I'll be optimistic and say 1.8m including +1.

Jason. 30-08-2015 03:13 PM

It's no surprise the ratings are down this summer due to many factors such as the shoddy production, less viewership, and probably because people have lost interest in the show.

I wonder if CBB17 in January will rate as highly as CBB13/15, given that recently all BB series have been dropping in ratings.

Will. 30-08-2015 03:16 PM

Yeah CBB17 will be interesting, but then BB15 had average/not that good ratings and CBB15 still managed to get 3.1M official.

I think Winter CBB will always be good/rate decently.

Summer CBB rates good for CH5 terms, if it can continue to get 1.6-1.9 overnight except Saturday then it's fine I think.

I kind of feel annoyed for this series.

This series has been good so far and they've given us way more live feed than normal and are updating their social media accounts more.
