You could + and - a member's karma. I didn't really understand it myself.

Just like a number in your profile at the side of the page, probably just generally showed how popular you are on the forum.

My karma was commonly in the negative numbers. Obviously. :smug:

Wouldn't the "like/dislike" buttons just bring up the same issues as the "karma" feature.

I seem to remember that was a horribly outdated aspect to the forum.

Just have a like feature instead of dislike

Locke. 30-10-2015 06:36 PM

Good old karma. Was a pretty fun feature.

why dont you just type

"I like your post above"

Because if someone posts something particularly good, it might be nice for them to see lots of likes under it :hee:. Sometimes I'll see a post I like but I don't post anything myself if I don't feel I've got anything to contribute, and having a thread filled with lots of "I like your post" posts would just be really annoying for anyone trying to read the thread and scrolling through lots of nonsense.

I'd use that whenever someone has an incorrect opinion (i.e. when people don't agree with me)

I just think a dislike option could increase negativity on the forum which isn't really needed.

The karma feature sounds different to a 'like' option because it wouldn't be assigned to a member, just individual posts. I can't think of any draw backs to a 'like' option, surely it would just be a positive thing for people to see next to their posts?

My main and only issue is all to do with bans, but that's already been covered. I liked what smithy said a few weeks/months ago or whatever with the whole 'each ban is more severe' thing.

Something like two hands clasped in a handshake, a hand holding out an olive branch, or a dove holding an olive branch will do.

I'm not up on these techno things, so if what I'm suggesting is too difficult, ignore me.

I've created a smiley called The Mysterious Smiler as a test for new Smileys on the Forum, hopefully it will show up so I can try and do a peaceful Smiley.:joker:

I know that it's not suppose to be a Smiley thread, but if anyone is interested in wanting new Smileys I will try to make some even though I'm not brilliant at them lol.

Oh the 'this chick' era was disgusting.

Anyway, is the like feature and the notification when you're quoted thing still being considered?
