BigSister 31-05-2007 11:48 AM

Yeah I found that out on another site. not really surprised though.

Pipergun 31-05-2007 02:27 PM

I'm really disappointed that Naomi was eliminated this week. I'm not going to pretend that I wanted her to win, or that she was the strongest candidate, but Sir Alan's whole decision making process seemed flawed on last night's episode.

Not only was Simon's freezing as the director not even given a passing mention in the boardroom, Naomi's decision to include the decollage (sp?) was presented as being the bigger fault, when Simon clearly fell to pieces.

Not only was he lacklustre as a presenter, but he made extremely poor product choices: a hair remover that looked like a wall-sander, and a wheelchair. Coupled with his decision to push himself out into the limelight, he effectively left Naomi and Tre with no escape route.

This brings back memories of Miriam's firing in Series 1 - for the first time in the series, I disagree with Sir Alan's judgement. Naomi should have stayed, with Simon being fired: he was simply a disaster!

Noopie 31-05-2007 07:10 PM

^ I completely agree with you! This is the first firing this series that I've not agreed with. I knew Naomi wasn't going to win.. but she didn't deserve to go "for making bad product choices" which is really quite a lame reason to fire someone.

Sam 01-06-2007 08:40 PM

Its going to be hard next week with three being fired.

Lohits out first.

Then we got Kristina, Katie, Simon and Tre.

A really really hard one, i honestly dont have a clue which two will go,
ideally i want Katie to win :blush2:

BigSister 01-06-2007 08:42 PM

Sam your going to be really popular:laugh: most of us hate katie

Pipergun 02-06-2007 06:05 PM

Realistically, there's no way Katie will win. (Sorry Sam!! :blush2:)

Once the final two have been chosen, they're given placements within SA's company until all of the previous episodes have been shown.

Only then, with a couple of days before the final, is the winning candidate chosen. They film two seperate endings before the work placement, so they can just edit in the right one.

Therefore - SA's had time to monitor public opinion - there's no way he'd want someone working for him with such a negative reputation.

I hope Katie doesn't get into the final stages, as it'll be a no-brainer if that's the case!

Yay thanks i missed it too

Naomi was fired on Wednesday and IMO Simon should have been. He was the crappest director ever, and was just hopeless.

Totally disagree, I dont think Sir Allan will care if someone he hires isnt liked by the public, he made the mistake last year, lots of people hated Ruth, and he went for Michelle because he liked her and sympathised, he said on Jonathon Ross that he doesnt want a daughter figure, he doesnt want someone who is his friend, he wants someone whos tough talking and good, he said Katie and Tre were both good candidates.

Lance 03-06-2007 11:15 PM

Kristina all the way.

James 03-06-2007 11:38 PM

That was a very entertaining episode. They just couldn't do the presenting, but that is why I think SAS fired Naomi, the one who could present a bit - he doesn't want a media wannabe.

It would be a big own-goal for SAS's PR if he hired Katie. There is an interesting preview on The Apprentice website for next week's episode but I will say no more.

BTW, the edit gave a way totally that Simon's team would lose by spending so much time showing that team's product selection and the arguments they had over it.

I thought the way in which last week's episode dwelled upon Simon's team was a bit too obvious, like you said.

Liking Kristina has nothing to do with her origin, all to do with her talent then, Lance?

Pipergun 04-06-2007 08:52 AM

I think it might've been mentioned on here before, but I've found this website again: http://www.bolegbros.co.uk/apprentice3/Index.asp

It re-creates the firings Lego-stylee!

MarkWaldorf 04-06-2007 12:47 PM

I just watched the episode.
Great episode overall, the task was entertaining. But dreadful at the same time. Naomi didn't deserve to get fired, I think Simon should have.

Spike 04-06-2007 08:54 PM

Simon should have got fired but im gald Naomi went

MarkWaldorf 06-06-2007 08:15 PM

LMFAO @ Simon's tenant.

Slartibartfast 06-06-2007 08:28 PM

Simon has been so funny on tonights show! :laugh3:

And Katie has been very impressive!

Pipergun 06-06-2007 11:10 PM

I think Simon and Kristina are the right final 2 based on the interviews.

Did anyone see the BBC2 show from 10-10.30? Katie got such a pasting from one of the guests! Finally, she gets her comeuppance.

If you didn't see it, I suggest you do - classic feel-good TV!

Michael 07-06-2007 08:18 AM

i think simon will win

STEPMUM FROM HELL

STEPMUM FROM HELL

APPRENTICE snob Katie Hopkins has been labelled a "fame-hungry gold-digger" by her teenage stepdaughter.

In an exclusive interview with the Mirror, pretty Charlie McKinney, whose dad Damian married Katie in 2004, claims The Apprentice man-eater was the "stepmum-from-hell".

And she's glad that viewers of the BBC1 show have been left in no doubt about how "bitchy" Katie can be.

"No one ever saw that side of her apart from us," says Charlie. "I think she went on the show to make herself a Simon Cowell 'Mr Nasty' figure but it has blown up in her face. She definitely has a cruel sense of humour."

Millions of viewers last night saw Katie, 31, selected for the final two in Sir Alan Sugar's hunt for a £100,000-a-year apprentice... only for her to change her mind and sensationally quit.

She'd already enraged fans of the show by having trysts with a fellow contestant, damning northerners and slagging off finalist Kristina Grimes for wearing a short skirt.

The mum-of-two also admitted last week: "When I found out I was pregnant I was in shock. I thought I'd do the New York marathon and said to myself, 'If I'm meant to be pregnant I will be after this'.

"I'm very different in my life as a mother to my life in business or my life as a partner."

Charlie, 18, reveals that Katie has been desperate for fame for years - ever since she auditioned for the first series of Big Brother.

"She went for BB and was a stand-by," says Charlie, who was bridesmaid at Damian and Katie's wedding. "She's very into the idea of celebrity. I wouldn't be surprised to see her on the next Celebrity Big Brother."

Charlie, who lives in Exmouth, Devon, with her mum Tina, brother Alex, 17, and 10-year-old sister Flora, met Katie in September 2003.

Tina had discovered wealthy Damian, her husband of 19 years, was having an affair with the blonde businesswoman after finding their London flat full of Katie's clothes.

Damian, 46, is the MD of a business consultancy firm in Devon - and Katie was one of his employees.

Not long after her parents' split, Charlie developed an eating disorder.

SHE dropped three stone to 6st 7lbs in just two months - and she believes it was caused by the split and starting boarding school.

"It was a cry for help," says Charlie, who is currently taking A-levels in English, history and economics. "I suppose, looking back, I thought if I lost lots of weight they would see there was something wrong."

But Charlie claims Katie was far from sympathetic and, instead, made snide remarks about her not eating. Charlie says: "When I was really thin, I remember Dad and Katie having a takeaway and Katie said, 'Of course, Charlie won't eat any of it, she'll just sit outside.'

"She'd say, 'You really should do some sport, go and get muscles.' She thought she could just get me to snap out of it."

Katie was just as unkind to her stepson, Alex, calling him "lazy" and "a lump" if she saw him watching TV. And, according to Charlie, she had little maternal instinct when she gave birth to Damian's daughter, India, in 2004. Charlie claims: "She said to me, 'I know everyone is supposed to love their baby and think that they're the most beautiful in the world but I think babies are *******ing ugly."

Charlie claims that Katie left most of their upbringing to a full-time nanny. And she says she watched her strong father turn into a meek man during his relationship with Katie.

"He was a completely different person," says Charlie, who hopes to work in her dad's business. "He used to be the man of the house but, in their relationship, she wore the trousers. He became very meek.

"She used to try to make him really young and trendy."

And on one occasion, when Damian took his daughter shopping for new clothes, he told her to hide the packages from jealous Katie.

Charlie says: "All my clothes were falling off me so he picked me up from my school in Bristol so we could buy new clothes.

"When we got back, he said, 'Would you mind putting the bags under the rug?' He said that it would be much easier if Katie didn't see them."

Damian and Katie split last January - much to Charlie's delight. "They did row a lot. It never seemed like a happy relationship. I doubt very much if she was ever in love with him."

Since splitting from Damian and going on to make a name for herself in the show, Katie has been linked with two married men - as well as fellow Apprentice contestant Paul Callaghan.

The first was father-of-two Paul Collin, 41, a handsome ex-Marine she met while working in Damian's consultancy firm in Devon. His three-year marriage broke down when his wife Mel found saucy texts from Katie on his mobile.

Next up was ex-army lieutenant and fellow contestant Paul. The pair started a fling during filming of The Apprentice and when Sir Alan discovered it, he blew his top.

But Paul dumped bed-hopping Katie after he walked in on her getting down to business with her latest squeeze, 43-year-old Mark Cross.

And just last week, she was pictured in a topless al-fresco romp with Mark, who she met last year while working at the Met Office HQ in Devon.

Mark's devastated wife, Ruth, 50, is now reportedly trying to save their seven-year marriage.

"I really don't know what men see in her," says Charlie. "Maybe it's her confidence - that whole 'I know what I want and where I'm going' thing. Personally, I can't see it at all."

Katie was yesterday unavailable for comment, with her representatives saying: "Katie is likely to sell her story to someone and hence won't be commenting."

What a brilliant show it was last night!

I think that Kristina should win, as she's been the more consistent contestant and I believe she's a more effective, structured leader. I think Simon's very likeable, but I wouldn't take to his unorganised, more unplanned approach. Also, Simon's performance in the TV task was awful, and I still think in a fair world, he would've been fired last week.

Saying that, I have a sneaking suspicion that Simon will pip Kristina to the post. He's always coming up with ambitious, out-of-the-box ideas. This is something that we haven't seen from Kristina: although she's an efficient, diligent worker, we are yet to see her creative side.

I think Sir Alan is likely to be swayed by Simon's spontaneity, but I'd still like Kristina to win: she's achieved greater levels of success throughout the series and I think she'll be a safer long-term investment.

Still, it'll be a close-run thing!

Bring on next Weds! :dance2:

James 07-06-2007 02:51 PM

That was a very strange turn of events in the boardroom... SAS telling Katie she was in the final, then Katie quiting. I think it shows that what other contestants were saying about Katie only being in the show to promote herself, and not being interested in working for SAS was true.

I think Kristina will win. Mind you I thought Ruth would win last year.

Sam 07-06-2007 03:14 PM

I thought Ruth would have won last year , and she should have, but i hope he learns from his mistakes and hires Kristina

GiRTh 07-06-2007 03:16 PM

It was weird. I sat there jaw on the floor wondering what the hell was going on. I think Katie simply wanted to win.

Did anyone see the Apprentice fired show. Michelle Mone cut Katie to ribbons. It was great.
