This is so sad.

With regards to bag checks, I've always thought they've been lax at any arena I've been to. Just a quick peek and that's it. I realise this is probably an peculiar position for me to take, but I think they should be a lot more thorough, and nobody should be able to enter an arena foyer without going through security screening first. I always find myself thinking 'is that it?', and in all honesty I don't mind waiting a little longer if it reduces the likelihood of stuff like this happening.

You get searched more at a festival than you do at an arena.

Everytime I have been to the MEN Arena they have aswell. Don't really think security is to blame.

It was in the foyer before you get into the arena, so they didn't even know probably

Agree with this, when I went to the arena I remember being surprised at how easy it was to walk through the train station and end up right outside the arena doors, it's very accessible to the public (it's also the same entrance/exit the attack took place I believe)

So I live across the road from the arena. At the time of explosion I heard a noise and my back went up, something was seriously wrong. My partner said reports are that it was a blown speaker but I couldn't believe that as speakers never blow and this gave me a strange feeling. Helicoptors have been circulating the area all night I haven't slept in just so upset and shocked by this whole thing. Poor children and people who were meant to have a great time will never return home.

I think of the woman with kids who asked me for directions to the concert

Wizard. 23-05-2017 04:23 AM

This is from an Ariana stalker it's so creepy

y.winter 23-05-2017 04:52 AM

Terrible. Just terrible.

All the bag searches in the world won't stop a suicide bomber blowing themselves up as people exit a venue sadly

Shaun 23-05-2017 06:01 AM

Death toll is now 22 :(

Children confirmed among the deceased

AnnieK 23-05-2017 06:10 AM

Awful...my FB feed is just filled with people saying they have not heard from loved ones. Can't imagine what they are going through right now.

Daniel-X 23-05-2017 06:11 AM

Woke up to seeing all the footage of the news on my friends stories :(

This has really terrified me because of one how close it is to me, and two because they clearly targeted children and teens

Strictly Jake 23-05-2017 06:12 AM

I can t stop crying my cousin and children were at th concert they are all home safe but it makes me feel sick that something could have happened and I'm so upset that of course something has happened to others family members I can't believe people still do things like this I'm angry I'm upset and devastated it's happened so close to my hometown. In absolute bits

Shaun 23-05-2017 06:12 AM

I know it's not right to focus on one specific victim or add to any confusion but there's a guy I've followed on Twitter who I always found funny (I don't know him personally but that's how Twitter works, I guess) that's among the missing and it's genuinely terrifying.

Jake  I'm so glad your family are safe though.

Brillopad 23-05-2017 06:13 AM

There is no doubt that if we hadn't allowed so many into our country over the years many people would still be alive today. Unfortunately it will only get worse.

People act so shocked, it's terrible, but what do they expect. These kind of attacks are going to become a normal part of British life. It isn't going to stop.

I honestly can't comprehend this, why anyone would feel the need to do this
It's so devastating

This attack more so than some other feels more real in a way if that makes any sense? Because so many of us or our friends and family go to these types of concerts all the time and I do often consider the lack of security
But none of us could ever imagined tbis sort of thing happening or not having a family member or friend return home

Shaun 23-05-2017 06:40 AM

not a big Corden fan but he's great with words.

AnnieK 23-05-2017 06:46 AM

Manchester has really pulled together in this....we have been through bombings before with the IRA and people really do band together and put aside all differences to help. I have always been proud to be from Manchester but at times like this I am even more so

Dominic 23-05-2017 06:47 AM

This is horible </3 My prayers go out to the families of the victims and I hope the injured are safe.
