If this turns out to be connected to terrorism what on earth was the PM and Home Secretary thinking of just last week reducing the risk from critical to severe.

More pointless loss of lives, whatever is behind it.

It isnt her choice

They don't decide it's an independent decision

I don't believe it would've made that much difference anyway
Police and Intellegnce service are still doing everything they can to prevent attacks like this, and it's not like the terror threat is low so they're more vigilant that usual
But as people have said, regardless of threat level how can you stop someone getting in a vehicle and driving On a pavement

Whoever decides the Home Secretary at least must have input.

Anyway,it may not be terrorism but if it is,that decision should be looked at really seriously.

What a waste of lives again.Truly awful.

Reducing the risk still posed a risk of "imminent attack"...made no difference IMO and would not have changed tonight's events...unfortunately.
These attacks are going to continue to happen because they are so random..what more can we do??

Smithy 03-06-2017 11:49 PM

So it's been confirmed someone has had their throat slit in the name of allah or is that trash account just assuming?

JTAC decide, then the Home Secretary normally announces it.
All done independently.

Unless the police tell us dont believe it

thesheriff443 03-06-2017 11:51 PM

You are not going to stop someone using a vehicle as a weapon or taking a kitchen knife and start stabbing random people.

He was just saying what everyone else says like "it won't change how we live or scare us.
He just worded it pretty awfully and tweeted at a bad time

But I assume he didn't mean anything In a malicious way

And that reply is ridiculous when there's no confirmation of who has carried out these attacks

smudgie 03-06-2017 11:53 PM

The Met police confirming London Bridge and Borough market were acts of terrorism.

Greg! 03-06-2017 11:53 PM

That Leave.EU account is disgusting. Racist liars that headed the leave campaign

Will. 03-06-2017 11:55 PM

I've met him and he isn't, actually. Nothing wrong with what he said, just ill-timed (hence why he deleted it). But hey, don't let that get in the way of sharing some reactionary Twitter account

smudgie 03-06-2017 11:56 PM

Witness told BBC that they did shout about Allah, he also said he had sent them a video of it, that you could hear it all in the background.

I was referring to Owen Jones tweet never said I endorsed what the other account said

joeysteele 03-06-2017 11:59 PM

Security services decide it,that's a given.

I'd still be questioning that decision before announcing it.
Right now as it's announced it is a terrorist incident, that decision could need to be looked at.

It's not the govts.fault that these vile people destroy lives in this way at all however.
It's sickening whenever these incidents take place.

Wizard. 04-06-2017 12:00 AM

4 attacks in the space of a few months. We're officially the New France. Terror threat needs raised again I think
