Reluctant to say too much (only because of the agreement they make you sign and how it could jeopardise any chance of a late callback) although I doubt it matters much now anyway, but I don’t think it’s giving much away to simply share how much they were looking for ‘genuine’ people.

I mean it was drilled into everybodys heads throughout both rounds that they wanted to go back to their roots and wanted this series to be ‘less about drama and fighting and more about fun’. Main guy literally said this at one stage and this is a direct quote, ‘So we’re looking to go back to the best days of Big Brother so think Series 6 or Series 7’ and I got hyped af at this point but no one else seemed to care which was a shame. What I also found abit telling was just before that a production member admitted straight up (this is infront of PEJ aswell) that ‘Big Brother just hasn’t been working in recent years’.

Moreover the actual Diary Room questions were a far cry from previous years and were all steered towards finding out the type of person you are - as opposed to ‘what makes you tick’ or ‘what kind of people would you least like to live with’ none of those questions came up. I genuienly believe that they’re searching high and low for genuine people who anyone can relate to, which is probably where I went wrong. Anytime anyone said ‘they’re famous on social media’ (cringe) you could literally see the eyes rolling amongst some of the panel. I don’t want to say too much more but at the very, very end of the process it was confirmed that they really didn’t want ‘larger than life characters’ and wanted the everyday man. It should hopefully be obvious what I mean by that as I say it was at the very end of the process.

I think I would have been alot more bitter about this upcoming series if these auditions weren’t done so differently. That’s the other thing aswell, the actual audition process was flipped upside down. But yeah, I’ll probably watch this year and it will be the first time I have done so since I first auditioned years ago. Once I started auditioning and getting knocked back I couldn’t stomach watching the series I auditioned for, but ironically even though this was the closest I came, I’m still intriqued just because of how much you could tell they genuienly are trying something different. Just hope it pays off.

Very true. Very sad too. Couldn’t believe the reactions of some familiar faces when I came on here today, but I guess it really says alot when a forum dedicated to Big Brother doesn’t seem to care that it could be finishing. Stark contrast to what it was like on here in August 2009.

:hehe: Hello!

Interesting! Thanks for sharing, that is encouraging. Let's hope they stick to their word!

Denver 29-07-2018 02:04 PM

It's obvious they are trying to bring back a positive show in the hope of getting rating to keep it on CH5 or another chanel

Its been like this for years, when a season finishes we have ...'its off season threads :cheer2:'

It's time for it although I won't really believe it until C5 confirms it.

I do think that this will be the last BB but I don't think they'd let go off CBB.

most of us here are genuine fans though only takes a stroll into the rewatch thread to see that. I mean only a fan would rewatch 8+ weeks of a tv show that airs daily. its just that some of us feel like the public need a break before they can let bb into their lives again and just bombarding us with more seasons even though the show is dying is only gonna ensure that its gone forever.
