It’s not though is it?

31% Brexit Party + 9% cons + 2% UKIP = 42%

Lib Dem’s 21% + Green 12% + Change UK 4% = 37%

Then you have Labour who don’t know if they’re going forward or backward

Wizard. 26-05-2019 10:28 PM

The country are feeling angry and disenfranchised on both sides and it just sums up this sh*t show. The Brexit Party are clearly sweeping this though, which is impressive considering their three week existence.

I have to laugh at Heidi Allen claiming a good night for Chanhe UK though, what an absolute joke they are

The voting public are uninformed.

To write off vast swathes of the public as being uninformed is a bit ignorant tbh. There are plenty of people out there who know loads about the EU and still want out, while there are also people who know next to nothing about it and want to remain. And vice versa on both counts, obviously.

Plus, this is a democracy. I can't imagine "Joanna and Michael" could tell us much about the front bench of their chosen party during a general election, but fortunately for us all, you don't have to sit an exam before voting.

MTVN 26-05-2019 10:42 PM

Tbh this is not very important for the Tories as May will soak up all the blame for this, it's much more damaging for Labour who are keeping their leader..

Remember that the turnout is half that of the EU referendum though.. just shows people are still divided but dangerous to read too much into it

The funny tinge party sabotaging Lib Dem seats?

They’re voting for a party that doesn’t have a manifesto, how is that not an ignorant vote, people don’t even know what they’re voting for

A dog with a broken leg would get the same share of vote if it barked loudly for brexit

Mess at Anne Widdecombe winning

Yeah, people were mainly voting on the party's name rather than policies in this case. But when it comes down to it, they're voting for MEPs, not MPs who will help determine who the PM will be.

Instead of thinking about which party they want to lead the country, they're thinking about what message they want to send to the government. I'm sure there are Remainers out there who have little sympathy with the Lib Dems beyond the same stance on Brexit.

Some on LBC said this would be a "practice second Referendum", and I don't think they're a million miles off. I'd put money on a good chunk of the electorate voting on Leave/Remain principals rather than general policy.

Tories getting decimated is a scream

You’re an outlier?

Wizard. 26-05-2019 10:54 PM

Also if remain was so popular wouldn’t Lib Dem’s be winning hmm

No bc the lefts vote is split

Denver 26-05-2019 10:58 PM

I voted Brexit Party

MTVN 26-05-2019 10:59 PM

Leave vote is also split between Brexit and Tory even it's a more one sided split..

Liam- 26-05-2019 11:00 PM

Thankfully these elections don’t hold that much power so there aren’t as many possible consequences, the likes of Farage and Widdecombe doing well is like a slap to British values but it could be worse?

MTVN 26-05-2019 11:01 PM

Lib Dems and Green are the only true remain parties (and Change but they're polling about the same as Ukip)
