What are these ridiculous suggestions you’re making

i just don't think that is true. The public knew how the family treated diana, harry lived it, i just don't see how he would not have known exactly how the family would behave.

Two women of colour on the radio this morning saying its a natural discussion when your husband is white...nothing offensive about it at all.

It’s definitely offensive

She will have burned her way through that by now

It's all about context and tone though so we will never know if it was a question or a concern. It could quite easily have been a general musing but it could just have easily had far more sinister reasoning behind it. It obviously caused offence to Harry and Meghan though....however it was meant to be.

I find it incredibly worrying that even though this interview is out now and theyve spoken their truth about what happened and how it happened, and let’s be honest, we know it’s true, they wouldn’t have said it if it wasn’t, there are still people still blinded by their dislike for them that they’re pulling them apart for it.

Undeniably 100% grossly offensive it is Glenn.

It may be easy for those not of a different colour to say it's not..
Living it is very different.

Because they hadn’t treated Kate like that? Because presumably they hadn’t treated any of Harry’s other (serious) partners like that?

What...questioning the possible tone of a childs skin born to a mixed race couple?...the 2 women this morning couldnt believe she was insinuating racism with such comments.

Why is it even a question?

And what that would mean or look like for the royal family

Cherie 08-03-2021 10:13 AM

It's a one sided account, looks like all the Meg fans would go to court and have only one side of the case heard?

and this mention of being in touch with the Queen every day, they chapped back with a response to losing their patronages in a very snippy way, could they not have told her directly.,..

LukeB 08-03-2021 10:13 AM

A white woman telling us it’s not offensive :joker:

But just because those 2 women didn't find it offensive, doesn't mean that others wouldn't. Perception is different for everyone. Again, we don't know how is was mentioned or commented on.

Hmm, yes. They were offered a post in Africa for 3 years after the marriage by the Queen, working for charity and as commonwealth ambassadors. They didn't take it.
It all couldn't have been that bad, or they would have been off in a flash. :smug:

For someone that doesn’t want to watch the interview and waste two hours of their lives, you seem pretty intent on discussing it :conf:

Well if they said it it must be true...
Just like The Duchess denied any input into Finding Freedom...when she did.

Beso 08-03-2021 10:16 AM

The need for her to have 2 wedding ceremonies says it all really.

Glenn. 08-03-2021 10:17 AM

Also it wasn’t just a question it was a ‘concern’

I don’t see any reason for her to lie about it. It’s her son she’s talking about. But you do you and ignore the facts.

You could say the same of Meghan detractors though. she's lying and playing the victim whatever she says is the general consensus.

This interview was never going to change anyone's opinion of them. I'm bored of it already

Its quite telling though if the story is true about the Kate / Meghan incident. I assume if Kate sent a note, that could be produced to prove it but for the Royals to have allowed the press to run with that story since the wedding without refuting it is pretty horrible. They could have issued a statement saying there was no truth to that rumour (without throwing Kate under the bus).

it wholly depends on the context and in what way was it said

Its highly misleading (and of course manipulatingly deliberate) to just hang it out without any context

It was said to trigger her young fanbase, which is gross

Smithy 08-03-2021 10:20 AM

“It’s a one sided account”

Aye the palace/press haven’t had any say at all the last few years have they :skull:

Finding Freedom:
Harry and Meghan - who were going to register Archie for dual citizenship - decided to forgo a title for their son, because they wanted him to be a private citizen until he was at an age where he could decide which path he would like to take'

Now its 'they refused to give Archie a title'.
Why would she want a title for Archie, and why are they hanging on to their titles? They despise the institution but are willing to use it to make money and hang on their status.
