I've binge-watched this entire show and can't believe I never watched it beforehand, lmao.

I didn't quite know what to make of series one but did enjoy it as a whole once I finished it. Series two & three were phenomenal, though. I loved Lindsay Denton as a character, she was so amazingly complex, and Keeley Hawes played her so well. Series four was enjoyable because I liked Thandie Newton, and it was somewhat refreshing that the storyline wasn't so focused on the OCG and planted the seeds for 'H'. Series five was the one I enjoyed the least because I think they just laid the 'Hastings is bent' storyline on too thick, and I didn't care for Stephen Graham's character or anything to do with the gang. This series has been excellent, though. I just genuinely hope we do get some insight into who 'H' actually is, but I think it'll end with one of the main three already knowing who it is, and series seven will be about figuring out whether that character is or isn't bent.

It has got to the point, though, where the build-up in terms of who 'H' is has been so good that regardless of who it turns out to be, it'll probably be a letdown, lmao.

Also, Kate is a literal goddess.

Mother of God, its nearly SUnday

They’ve added a new bit onto the end of the advert for Sunday’s episode - Ted in the interrogation room again with Carmichael’s voice playing over saying the usual intro when the tape starts...

“Interview with Ted Hastings in the presence of his solicitor...” or something along those lines.

Interesting...

Same and agree with all your points. Season 3 is my favourite so far. Literally just finished the last episode so all ready to watch the finale live

It's so bizarre having to wait for an episode :joker:

I know but at least we only have to wait a couple of days [emoji12]

I was really rooting for Lindsey Denton even when I thought she was a bent copper [emoji28]

Thank the Lord!

She was such a fantastic character. I went backwards and forwards wondering whether she was bent or not, but in the end I liked her too much to care, lol. I don't particularly like Steve as a character, so I loved it when she threw him under the bus and got herself out of prison.

Oh I don't like Steve either, grumpy old bollocks [emoji28] oh and when she gave that sleazy parole guy a "bent cocker"

Love Lindsay  one of the best TV characters of all time. I agree about S4, I liked the breakaway from the OCG network storyline, they nicely tied it in at the end though. Roz was a fantastic character too

I loved John Corbett and S5 myself. I found myself really rooting for him and was gutted at his demise . The first two episodes were a bit slow but I think it picked up in the latter half. Patricia Carmichael and Lisa McQueen are great characters too.

My personal ranking is:

S2 > S4 > S3 > S5 > S6 > S1

But they are all fantastic I think tbf.

Daniel-X 30-04-2021 09:16 PM

I’m in the middle of a rewatch myself actually, I’m halfway into S2 and it’s just as good the second time round.

LaLaLand 01-05-2021 02:31 AM

Thought long and hard and this is my final theory as to who “H” or the fourth man is... I think...

Spoiler:

As much as everything is pointing towards Osborne being the fourth man and there’s absolutely no doubt he’s so dodgy and it would make sense and basically make the whole story come full circle...

I just don’t think it will be him. I just think an obvious ending to all of this wouldn’t do the show justice.

If anything, I’d rather them conclude it’s him, have US 100% believe it’s him, get him in the infamous interrogation room and even charge him BUT at the end it’s revealed TO US that it’s actually bloody ANDREA who’s behind everything.

Andrea’s pulling all of the strings without a care under Osborne (maybe she’s got dirt on him) and framing him for her own role as “H” to finally become CC, manipulating Carmichael (who isn’t dodgy at all but in fact just trying to further her career by being blind and completely obedient to dodgy superiors to rise up the ranks as quickly as possible) who Andrea has put in place as AC-12’s new leader once Ted gets the boot after taking the early retirement - convenient for Andrea as Carmichael is basically just out to brown nose her and take orders to impress, thus not questioning decisions Wise makes - however dodgy.

I actually wouldn’t be surprised if Hastings does actually retire and if there’s another series he’s working “rogue” to snuff out Andrea at the top from the outside.

Hope that all makes sense I was kind of thinking as I typed. :joker:

TL,DR: Andrea is “the fourth man” and is framing Osborne as “H” to get promoted to Cheif Constable. We the viewer will know that they have the wrong H and the real H is actually now in charge of the whole ruddy show.

Steve would literally rather die than go for his Occupational Health meeting? :joker:

I doubt it's the last series and I think from spoilers that the part that will break hearts is
Spoiler:

Someone is going to Frame Hastings as being H

LaLaLand 01-05-2021 06:34 PM

Jed tweeted the advert for Sunday’s episode and wrote “Watch until the VERY END...” or something.

Something’s happening that’ll leave the door open I suspect.
