I didn't look at it as an extension to the show or anything, I just looked at it as a separate show that starred the people who were in a show that was a massive part of my youth.

I get some people won't have enjoyed it....but I did

And to me, whatever their goal with it was, it didn’t add anything and I disliked it. I just don’t like reunions in general.

That's fine. My response was only based on you saying they should leave the show alone and not add anything that will change how well it ended.

The cast getting together to talk about it is none of those things.

HORRIFYING.

5 humans and one oak tree.

Well to me them coming back even to talk about it is not leaving the show alone. I didn’t need it, It didn’t bring anything special to me, it wasn’t necessary to me.
No more special episodes, actors gathering or whatever. Time to let it go.

Yeah, I got that. But it hasn't changed the show itself, has it?

It’s one reunion in 17 years, I’m trying to get your point here but I just can’t?

It was literally an interview and behind the scenes look at a still very popular show…

Only seen the first 20 minutes so far but Matt Leblanc really stands out as the happiest and most natural back in front of the camera and the Friends environment, the others all come across quite nervous

He did Top Gear for 3 years, so (you might think) is more comfortable being in front of the camera "as himself" than the others, who haven't done that sort of work.

Oh, and I thought we'd had all of your sexist remarks. There's more...

He’s clearly a real nice guy .

There’s an outtake clip trending on YouTube where the guys are being interviewed and MattPerry is on camera but completely distracted and animated.
He had no idea he was being filmed .. anyways the clip shows Matt le B explaining things to Matthew P very gently and respectfully rather than making fun of him

He did but that's a relatively short amount of time still in the context of how long it's been since Friends finished and Jennifer Aniston is probably the one you think of as having the biggest career post Friends and most used to the spotlight

I thought his 'has it always been purple' comment at the start when they were talking about the set was really quick but none of the others seemed to get it

Marsh. 02-06-2021 11:13 PM

Yeah, but the fact he did Top Gear shows he's far more comfortable in front of the camera as himself in general. Whereas none of the others would do work much like that.

I think Matthew Perry is normally quite confident and vibrant as himself but I think he's obviously going through a rough time in his personal life.

What amazes me was how much they have forgotten....its weird, I know and have watched every episode inside and out but they get all confused about what happened in which episode and things like that. I forget that to them it was a job, that made them massively famous and rich, but that's all it was really. They moved on with their lives and don't watch re-runs when there is nothing else on

Marsh. 02-06-2021 11:17 PM

I remember Courtney Cox posting on instagram that she'd gone into her daughter's room to switch her computer off as she'd fallen asleep and she'd been watching Friends on Netflix. :joker:

Yeah I just watched and it was definitely the most forced part of the episode, it was just so random and it was clearly shot quite a bit early before Lisa got a Botox top up :skull: don’t know why she didn’t just get a talking head interview like the rest of them

Yeah, I thought that too, but then maybe when they watch it back they’d be like “OH that was the day this happened”

Anyway I really enjoyed it, it didn’t spoil the ending it felt no different to other shows like The Talking Dead, After the Thrones, Talking Bad... just 17 years later

ALSO I’d have loved to have known who really doesn’t pick up bc I’ve seen interviews before (usually the girls) who have said they’ve tried to organise something as a group and one person never turns up or replies, I bet it’s David
