Ladies and Gentlemen. Welcome to Week 2 of Strictly Tibb Dancing Series 7. This week our couples will be dancing to the theme of Best of British as chosen by last weeks top of the leaderboard Liam! Last week Alf and Karen and Kate and Kai fell joint bottom of the leaderboard. The lowest scoring couple this week out of these couples will be facing the dance off against the bottom of this week's leaderboard. So let's get on with the show!
|
1. First up is Vicky and Alijaz with a Tango to objection by Shakira
Toy Soldier: Uhh... Lo mejor de Gran Bretaņa? Best of British. Has there been some sort of mix-up? It's also not a good Tango song after the first 20 seconds. If this is a sign of things to come this week, I am not hopeful. I scored down for being wildly off theme last time and I feel I have to be consistent. I mean I actually can't believe you picked Shakira for Best of British. I'm tempted to disqualify entirely Parmnion: Fantastic shapes at the beginning, before blowing my socks off. Full if drama and intricate moves Barry: How did you get best of British from Shakira? I’m guessing it’s a smart connection to it but as I’m scoring best of British, I’m sorry, but you are getting a low score for the choice. However…it worked well with your dance Toy Soldier:1 Parmnion:9 Barry:3 Score:13 |
2. Next is Kate and Kai with a cha cha to champagne supernova by Oasis
Toy Soldier: A Cha Cha to Champagne Supernova?? Cha Cha Change your ideas about matching the song to the dance. The only good thing that can be said about this choice is "it's British". This was meant to be a lively cha cha and I can't see how you'd do one to this at all, so I'm going to assume you just sat on the floor and cried. Goodness me. At least the theme is right. Parmnion: Doesnt really say cha cha cha to me, a tad on the slow side Barry: Ok I know why Oasis was chosen but I didn’t think this was a cha cha cha, it felt a bit slow and not much action given. But the song is fine Toy Soldier:3 Parmnion:7 Barry:7 Score:17 |
3. Next is Vanessa and Giovanni with a contemporary to sky full of stars by Coldplay
Toy Soldier: This worked for me - on theme and appropriate for the dance, I'm not generally a coldplay fan but this was a solid performance Parmnion: I dont really like coldplay, but this worked for me Barry: I loved it! It was fantastic. The song was a delight and it was such a great dance. I couldn’t fault it. Toy Soldier:8 Parmnion:8 Barry:10! Score:26 |
4. Next is Lewis and Amy with a street dance to Wannabe by Spice Girls
Toy Soldier: What can I say - a classic and a perfect choice for both the theme (what's more British than these girls? Literally nothing.) and for a street dance. I'm putting my speakers at the window and heading into the street to dance right now Parmnion: This also worked Barry: Thought someone would do the spice girls. It was kind of a predictable song choice, nothing special. But the song is a banger and you did the street dance well. Toy Soldier:10! Parmnion:8 Barry:9 Score:27 |
5. Next is Liam and Dianne with a Charleston to Upside down by Paloma Faith
Toy Soldier: Decent song choice for the dance, I enjoyed this one, can't really fault it too much Parmnion: You did well to pick a Charleston song that works, I've imagined AJ flying about to this, well done. Barry: Amazing! Toy Soldier:9 Parmnion:10! Barry:10! Score:29 |
Well done everyone so far x

On to the next 5 performances

Woo hoo.

6. Next is Jake and Katya with a quickstep to Baggy Trousers by Madness
Toy Soldier: I don't think I was expecting this work but it sort of did, and definitely bang on theme unlike some of our entrties. An oddly entertaining performance guvna Parmnion: Best of the night, simply british as British can be Barry: Has this been done before? Jake will know. However, worked well with the quickstep and deserves high praise Toy Soldier:8 Parmnion:10! Barry:9 Score:27 |
7. Next is Nicky and Nancy with a foxtrot to Beneath your beautiful by Labrinth and Emeli Sande
Toy Soldier: An unusual but nicely done Foxtrot, I like this song choice and it's on theme. I feel like some thought went into the choice, not an obvious one but it really works so well done Parmnion: You made me cry Barry: Ugh so beautiful. It was well executed and you danced with grace Toy Soldier:9 Parmnion:7 Barry:9 Score:25 |

Just Niamh and Alf to go I think
|
8. Next is Kazanne and Johannes with a Jive to Jukebox Jive by The Rubettes
Toy Soldier: Obviously this works because it's on theme and, well, the clue is in the name. However I feel this made it a very safe and obvious choice and I'd personally have preferred something a little more adventurous... too easy a song choice to impress Parmnion: Some slight mistakes, that can be ignored. Overall a solid jive, full of fun and energy Barry: A jive to jukebox jive???? How could this not work! I wasn’t the biggest fan of the song but it’s such the prefect song to go with the jive if not predictable by the name lol Toy Soldier:7 Parmnion:9 Barry:8 Score:24 |
Some great songs so far!
|
9. Next is Niamh and Graziano with a Viennese waltz to Warwick Avenue by Duffy
Toy Soldier: On theme and an OK choice - I found the tempo a little too low for a Viennese Waltz, it would have worked better as a slow waltz but let's say the tempo was upped a little for this one, I'm feeling a generous Parmnion: Your tempo is spot on and Duffy is amazing Barry: Good choice this week. It went smoothly Toy Soldier:8 Parmnion:10 Barry:8 Score:26 |
10. Closing the show is Alf and Karen with a salsa to Shape of you by Ed Sheeran
Toy Soldier: Again a little bit on the slow side but I can't fault it too much, British music and Salsa aren't a combination you'd see very often! And Ed Sheeran, if nothing else, is so very British. I hate his face but I still enjoyed this. But I... I do hate his face so much Parmnion: Your costume leaves a lot to be desired, but your dancing more than makes up for that Barry: Not a big Ed fan but the song was good with the salsa no doubt about it. I’m also sure this was on strictly before? Maybe not but it was good Toy Soldier:8 Parmnion:8 Barry:8 Score:24 |
Me against Vicky.
Good luck Vicky. Xx |
