I hope every business in Britain defies any restrictions imposed
Resist |
They can’t defend it.
This was during a period of time when people were literally being screamed at through megaphones in parks by policemen saying that if they stopped or sat down for any period of time they’d face a fines and penalties. People getting fined for having a coffee on a bench outdoors with another person from a different household. The same period of time people who lived in blocks of flats were BANNED from using their communal outdoor spaces even for short periods of time. Doors to garden areas locked. Amongst many other instances. It’s shocking. |
"They can’t defend it."
Of course, he can. They are on Crown Land It was a Gathering. |

However, he'll have his band of supporters who will defend him no matter what he does. Plus if they don't really support his stance on this, then won't say so anyhow. Yes, it is indefensible, absolutely. |
Raab has already been on defending it. “Business”.
So why’s Carrie there!? |

Well for now anyway. Raab, how has he got an ounce of any credibility left after his Afghanistan chaos. If he had any credibility in the first place that is. |
people can and do have business lunches etc. I'm no Boris fan but i think this is all becoming very silly now
|
The rules were you could ONLY meet one person not of your household.
Even outside. It is getting silly as bots says. However the silliness for me is more about avoiding or engineering around the rules to cloud the issue. That it was being okayed by the holder of the highest elected post in the UK with responsibilities of ensuring rules were obeyed to the letter and protecting all the citizens of the present at least, 4 Nations of the UK. That is what is greatly wrong and indefensible. No surprise to me however that Con supporters will defend Johnson, no surprise to me at all. One rule for him and them, the whole letter of the rules to be followed for anyone else. |
Emergency Response
they were debating back in 2020 in a work setting. OUTSIDE. The Guardian Front page has failed Rabb was correct today Live on TV news |

Well Worth it to have an Outside View on what they are Debating |

Yes nothing wrong with that. Blair let his wife do the same |

I couldn't bear either of them. |
I dont know why they need to have a cheese and wine do at the drop of a hat, there were daily briefings going on at that time, how often did these 'business meetings' happen

It happens all the time. Labour MP's as well and the few LibDems |

I mean, they might have been there for a work thing originally, but sticking around afterwards for a chat, with some wine and cheese, is most definitely a social gathering, something that the little people around the country were punished for, the continued defence of these people with flimsy, pathetic excuses is nauseating, but completely unsurprising, can’t have good ol lad Boris being seen in a bad light can we?
|
i don't think people understand how work is done in those circles. It's absolutely normal for people to eat and work at the same time
|
There doesn't look to be a lot of work going on though BOTs, no laptops, no notebooks, just wine. I don't know about you but I don't want a bunch of entitled politicians making massive decisions about the economy and health related topics whilst slugging a glass of Merlot

It is wasted on a Guardian Front Page Meanwhile No one is getting any new extra Covid funds which is more important. |
Unbelievable.
I do think Johnson could commit murders and hard-line Con supporters would look for all ways to excuse him and the Con party. What happened to doing work and meetings in a virtual setting. Like near everyone else was told to do, who could. Excluding shopworkers and the emergency services. It's a fact. One rule for Johnson's Cons and another for everyone else. I know of places where consuming any alcohol at all would be a disciplinary offence anyway. Just unbelievable the lengths Cons will go to in order to excuse any even possible wrongdoing of Johnson and this smug, arrogant government. |
