I have a question about the Big 6 rule that I introduced in the 3rd edition.

Should I continue doing the Big 6 as the top 6 of the previous edition, or should I change it to the 5 countries with the highest average number of points and the host country, or should I abolish the Big 6 rule entirely?

And in turn, if it's the latter, should the 5 countries with the highest point average have the average based off of their average through all editions or their average through the last 5 editions?

What do you think would work best?
@Josiah.

As much as I like the constant changing of the Big 6, it would be nice to have some permanency with the Big 6.

And looking at the averages (including the soon to be disclosed points of this edition), the United Kingdom, despite last participating in the 10th edition in lieu of the individual nations, has the highest average of points either way.

I'd say to go with that then imo.

Congratulations to our winner!

To be completely honest, I was not expecting the US to be the first two time winner of this, and I definitely was not expecting Sabrina Carpenter to become the TiBB Music Festival's Johnny Logan and Loreen and end up winning twice.

And because of the United States hosting the ninth edition last year, the US will be passing hosting duties to the 4th place country, France.

I also have a change for the Big 6: The Big 6 will now be the host country and the 5 countries with the highest average number of points throughout the contest's history. This means we have a more permanent set of countries for the Big 6, and if one of the top 5 average countries is hosting, I will refer to this group as the Big 5.

Final Placings:
1st: United States - 242 pts.
2nd: Denmark - 182 pts.
3rd: Australia - 169 pts.
4th: France - 153 pts.
5th: Italy - 142 pts.
6th: Morocco - 135 pts.
7th: Canada - 133 pts.
8th: England - 128 pts.
9th: Türkiye - 123 pts.
10th: Netherlands - 120 pts.
11th: Sweden - 113 pts.
12th: Ireland - 112 pts.
13th: Spain - 105 pts.
14th: Armenia - 104 pts.
15th: Norway - 102 pts.
16th: Nigeria - 91 pts.
17th: Scotland - 79 pts.
18th: Wales - 74 pts.
19th: Latvia - 49 pts.
20th: Northern Ireland - 22 pts.

Well done to the USA/Sabrina Carpenter on the win.

Tbh it's a catchy song.

And thanks to Josiah for holding the contest, you imo did a great job.

And I've got to also say that I forgot how catchy Avril Lavigne songs were.

Josiah. 08-06-2024 03:02 PM

Thanks everybody; I'm actually surprised some of you actually watched all 25 minutes of the video.

And based off of the all time average of points throughout the contest's history, I figured out which countries will be the Big 6 for next edition. Joining Australia, France, Norway, and the US as automatic qualifiers are Angola and Czechia!

The top 10 for highest average of points are:
1. United States - 217 pt. avg. (Big 6)
2. United Kingdom - 213 pt. avg. (no longer participating)
3. Australia - 201 pt. avg. (Big 6)
4. Angola - 199 pt. avg. (Big 6)
5. Czechia - 195 pt. avg. (Big 6)
6. Norway - 185 pt. avg. (Big 6)
7. Albania - 184 pt. avg.
8. Ghana - 178 pt. avg.
9. Philippines - 172 pt. avg.
10. Russia - 169 pt. avg. (banned from participating)
