Aggression points to alcohol more often than not. He might not have been but I wouldn’t be surprised if he was drinking heavily that night. Alcohol’s a drug a lot of people love to give a hypocritical free pass because it’s so deeply ingrained in the social culture but it’s one of the most destructive and easiest to abuse. It’s involved in many, many suicides. No-one takes an overdose of weed or mushrooms and goes on to commit suicide. It’s always alcohol that’s involved, with or without benzos and/or some other drugs.
Alcohol’s just one of the worst drugs in the world, period. Its highs are unproductive and it brings out the worst and most aggressive in so many people. One’s high as a kite themselves if they think the same can be said for magic mushrooms. It just can’t, whether that suits one’s hypocritical ‘pro-alcohol, anti other drugs’ agenda or not. We normalise binge-drinking far too much in this part of the world. But that’s another issue altogether. |
